Eternal President of the DPRK

The Korean people hold President Kim Il Sung in high esteem as eternal President of the DPRK and father of socialist Korea.

President Kim Il Sung is the founder of DPRK demonstrating its might as a politico-ideological and military power today.

The DPRK is a Korean-style state which was founded by President Kim Il Sung with the Juche idea authored by him as its guide to suit the actual conditions of the country and the desire of the Korean people.

It is a unique socialist state centered on the popular masses, the first of its kind in the 5 000 years’ history of the nation in which the popular masses are the master of everything and everything serves them.

While staging an armed struggle to liberate the country from the colonial rule of the Japanese imperialists in the first half of the 1930s, he set up the people’s revolutionary government in the guerrilla bases and thus gained valuable experiences in building a new type power.

On the basis of it after the liberation of the country on August 15, Juche 34(1945) he published several works including “On Building the Party, the State and the Army in the Liberated Fatherland” and “On the Progressive Democracy”.

In the works he defined the character and tasks of the Korean revolution and advanced the unique political line on founding a democratic people’s republic suitable to the desire of the Korean people.

Pursuant to the line, there was founded the DPRK, the first people’s democratic state in the east on September 9, Juche 37(1948).

The event converted the Korean people from a miserable ruined nation to a dignified people of a sovereign and independent state.

President Kim Il Sung victoriously led the fatherland liberation war between 1950 and 1953 to defend the country from the U.S. aggression.

After the war he successfully accomplished the socialist transformation in urban and rural areas in difficult conditions and thus established the socialist system in all fields.

He defined independence, self-sustenance and self-reliant defense as the fundamental principle of the building of a sovereign and independent state and held fast to it in the whole period of leading the Republic.

He set forth the line on building an independent national economy and gave wise leadership for industry, agriculture and all other sectors of the national economy to do all work by their own efforts and technology.

He built up self-reliant defense industrial bases to produce modern weapons freely.

He established the people-centered socialist system in which the popular masses are the master of everything and everything serves them. He also provided the masses of people with all socio-political conditions to exercise the rights of masters of the country.

He also saw to it that serving the people became the fundamental principle of the activities of the Workers’ Party of Korea and the state and the desire and will of the people were embodied fully in policies.

Like this, President Kim Il Sung established a genuine people’s country and the people-centered socialist system with his unique idea on nation building and tested and experienced leadership.

His exploits will shine forever.
