The Secret of Championship

The Secret of Championship

At the recent London Olympics Korean athletes set new Olympic and world records, thereby grabbing several gold medals.
Dwelling upon the successes, world media reported that Korean athletes were raising a rush of wind at the London Olympiad.
Om Yun Chol who won gold medal in men’s 56 kg weight lifting category said:
“I could improve my ability rapidly under the loving care of the great leader    Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un.”
Here is an anecdote proving the truth of his words.
One June day in 1972 Kim Jong Il visited the football training ground on Rungna Islet to see how the players of the April 25 football team were training.
He asked an official what their strong points were.
Answered that they are speedy and relatively high in individual technique,   Kim Jong Il asked again what their weak points were then.
The official answered that they were not good in shooting in a decisive moment. Kim Jong Il agreed with him, but asked once again if he had not thought of something else.
Replied not, Kim Jong Il pointed out that some players were weak in fighting spirit.
Kim Jong Il stressed the need to give full play to fighting spirit in games, teaching that fighting spirit campaign is a method of fighting by displaying infinite devotion and self-sacrificing spirit with an indomitable will.
He went on: “The athletes should, in the future, display fighting spirit in both trainings and games. Fighting spirit is not attained of itself. The athletes can foster fighting spirit only through persistent trainings, in the course of cultivating pluck for match in particular.”
Afterwards, Korean athletes were successful in international games by fighting with their unique playing methods taught by Kim Jong Il.
When athletes achieved successes in international games, Kim Jong Il said such people are heroes in peacetime and gave them everything he could.
Like this, leader Kim Jong Il inspired Korean athletes with unrivalled pluck and grit and taught Korean style athletic principles and methods to bring them up into star players.
Under the loving care of Marshal Kim Jong Un the Korean athletes are successful today too with the fighting spirit.
The brilliant successes of Korean athletes in the recent Olympiad were achieved by their noble loyalty and matchless mental power to prove themselves worthy of the trust and affection of leader Kim Jong Il and Marshal Kim Jong Un.
