It is nearly a year since the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il passed away so unexpectedly after leading the Songun revolutionary  cause for over 4 decades . Visiting the DPRK in April 2012 for the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great leader President Kim Il Sung and also in September for a course on Kimilsungism-Kimilsungism, I could see both the yearning of the Korean people for the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il the successor to the great leader President Kim Il Sung  and their increasing reverence for him months after he had passed away whilst on on the spot guidance. Reflecting the will of the Korean people and the world people the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un has taken measures to glorify the memory of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il holding him in high esteem as the eternal general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea .
                                                   In April the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un the great successor to the Juche cause published the work " Let Us Brilliantly Accomplish the Revolutionary Cause of Juche Holding the great comrade Kim Jong Il in high esteem as eternal general secretary of our party ". In the work he explained that the title of eternal general secretary of the WPK is not a ceremonial one but a real meaningful one which fully reflected the will and desire of the entire Korean people . On April 11th 2012 the 4th Conference of the WPK was head and elected the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il as eternal general secretary of the WPK . The next day the Supreme People's Assembly elected the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il as the eternal chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK the highest organ of state power. The news was acclaimed greatly by the people . Later a new statue of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il along with a statue of the great leader
comrade Kim Il Sung was unveiled in front of the Korean Revolution Museum on the Mansu Hill in Pyongyang.  The statues are now visited by Pyongyang citizens from all walks of life. People come and share their good news here with the statues.  This is a manifestation of  deep reverence and yearning for the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il .

Visiting the DPRK in September I learnt how the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un had planned to present chairman Kim Jong Il with a special car for transportation around the newly built KPA Exhibition of Arms and Equipment. Sadly the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il passed away before the dear respected leader Marshal Kim Jong Un could present him with it. This brought great sadness to the Korean people .  The young lady who was my guide had tears running down her cheeks as she told me this. This made me realise the depth of feeling for the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il have . This brought to mind the scenes of the funeral of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il in December 2011. Despite the biting cold and heavy snow millions of Korean people turned out to visit the mourning sites. Millions lined the streets of Pyongyang to bid final farewell to the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il who had led them through raging storms .
     The loss of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il brought great emotional pain to the Korean people The feelings for the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il  are both very genuine and very profound . Such feelings are very pure  they cannot be bought or bargained for nor can be effected in anyway or done on someone's instruction or order. At the Arirang performance there was one scene which symbolised  the yearning of the Korean people to be with the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il. The passing of time makes the yearning of the Korean people for the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il grow deeper.  
                                                       Why is the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il so deeply revered by the Korean people. Firstly because he was the loyal successor to the great leader President Kim Il Sung who faithfully carried out his instructions and defended his ideology actively carried forward the cause of Juche that the great leader President Kim Il Sung started . Secondly  because the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il was a true people's leader who dressed in simple clothes such as an ordinary parka sharing good times and bad with the people. A harmonious , integral whole of the leader party and people exists in the DPRK unparalleled in the world , even after the passing away of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il this harmony still exists and has grown stronger.  Thirdly , the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il defended the independence of the DPRK and the independent and creative life of the Korean people both in physical and practical terms by his Songun politics , his Songun revolutionary leadership and supreme commandership of the KPA as well in ideo-theorectical terms by writing so many works defending socialism and independence. Fourthly, because the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il was a great ideologist and theoretician who systematised the Juche idea enhancing it greatly . He was also the mighty exponent of Songun politics. These are the fundamental reasons why Korean people revere the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il and yearn for him.
 Let us Juche idea and Songun idea followers join hands with them in remembering the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il on the first anniversary of his passing away.
