London 1st of September Juche 101(2012)
The ASSPUK, JISGE and UK Korean Friendship Association today issued the following joint statement in support of the Memorandum issued by the DPRK Foreign Ministry on the 31st of August.
The hostile policy of the US towards the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is the basic cause of the nuclear issue on the Korean peninsula. It is the consistently hostile policy of the United States toward the DPRK for more than six decades that has compelled the DPRK to have access to a nuclear deterrent. The US hostility to the DPRK began from day one and has continued without let-up. The US have had plenty of opportunities to reverse its policies but each time it has missed its chance.
In the 1950s the US imperialists launched a war of aggression against the DPRK causing huge material, financial and human loses . The DPRK did not receive any compensation or reparations for the losses caused by the US during the Korean War.
The US has broken every agreement it ever had with the DPRK starting with the Korean Armistice Agreement of 1953, then the DPRK-US Agreed Framework Agreement of 1994 , the various agreements at the six-party talks and the February 29 2012 agreement.
The US imperialists have several times nearly used nuclear weapons against the DPRK , they have also declared the DPRK a target of nuclear attack and have increased the nuclear threat to the DPRK.
The US have piled sanction after sanction upon the DPRK and even got the UN security council to adopt sanctions against the DPRK.
Given the extreme hostility of the US towards the DPRK and its system it it only fair and correct that the DPRK should retain and expand its nuclear deterrent. We fully support the contents of the DPRK Foreign Ministry
Memorandum .
