Statement of ASSPUK and JISGE saluting 20th anniversary of the election of comrade Kim Jong Il as KPA Supreme Commander

The ASSPUK and JISGE today issued a statement saluting the 20th anniversary of the election of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il as Supreme commander of the Korean People's Army. This was a great event in the onward march of the Songun revolution. The KPA, founded by the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung ,is the reliable defender of socialist Korea. Moreover as the DPRK is on the front line of the struggle against imperialism , the KPA is the defender of world socialism and the anti-imperialist forces of the world. Thus by assuming the top post of the Juche-orientated revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il became the supreme commander of the world anti-imperialist military front.

 The great leader comrade Kim Jong Il ensured that the priceless achievements made by the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung made in the field of army-building were continued and actively carried forward. As supreme commander the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il built up the KPA  as the army of the leader with a steel-like unity based on the Juche idea and the Songun idea .This was complemented by the blossoming of the army-people unity under Songun revolutionary leadership of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il
The great leader comrade Kim Jong Il is the brilliant commander of Songun, the general of Mt Paektu. Beginning his Songun revolutionary leadership on the 25th of August 1960 at the Ryu Kyong Su Guards no 105 division of the KPA . As result of tireless guidance to the KPA he accumulated great experience and commanding arts becoming a pre-eminent general and ever-victorious iron-willed brilliant  commander.
The election to the position of Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army was a landmark in the forward march of the Songun revolution. Leader Kim Jong Il effected Songun politics wisely building up the KPA as the core force of the Korean revolution . He ensured that the KPA was not only strong in arms but strong in ideology and politics. Opposing the modern revisionists attempts to 'de politicise ' and ' de ideologise' the army he ensured that the army held fast to the line of being the revolutionary armed force of the Workers' Party of Korea. He kept to the line of maintaining the revolutionary traditions of the KPA forged by the great leader Generalissimo Kim Il Sung in the anti-Japanese armed struggle and and the Fatherland Liberation War . He also built the KPA army as the army of the great leader President Kim Il Sung. Supreme Commander Kim Jong Il fully promoted the revolutionary soldier spirit the epitome of the militant Songun ideology prevailed throughout society thus further cementing the steel-lie unity of the army , people and the party and contributing the revolutionisation of society in a radical way.
During the last 20 years the DPRK , the land of Juche has faced unceasing and increasing threats by the US imperialists and the south Korean puppets to stifle it by force.Supreme Commander comrade Kim Jong Il has by his brilliant commanding art defeated all these attempts honourably defending Juche Korea, the bastion of socialism . Indeed the destiny of world socialism depends on the DPRK thus the robust defence of the DPRK by the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il applying Juche-orientated military tactics and Songun revolutionary leadership has contributed to the defence of socialism and independence all over the whole world.

The KPA and Korean people under the leadership of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il faced down the US imperialists when they clamoured over the nuclear issue. The DPRK threw a nuclear thunderbolt at the imperialists by successfully testing a nuclear device. The KPA smashed the provocations of the south Korean puppets and US imperialists at Yongphyong island thereby defending world peace and socialism. Thus the 20 years of leader's Kim Jong Il's command of the Korean People's Army have been years of great achievements in which the KPA has been strengthened greatly . Because of the decisive role of the anti-imperialist military front there have been victories in other fields such as the economy and culture The ASSPUK and JISGE rejoice over these achievement. On this occasion we will study Songun politics more deeply and also call for the world progressive people to study Songun politics more actively.
