Cuba Proclaims Period of Mourning for Demise of Kim Jong Il

Pyongyang, December 20 (KCNA) -- A mourning period of three days was proclaimed in Cuba over the demise of leader Kim Jong Il.

On Monday, the Council of State of Cuba announced the days from Dec. 20 to 22 as an official period of mourning over the demise of Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission.

Flags will be hoisted at half-mast at public buildings and military institutions of Cuba in the period. -0-
