The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK (ASSPUK) , the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea, the Korean Friendship Association of the UK KFA UK ) ,and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification in Korea (BSCPRKP) issued a joint statement in support of the press statement of comrade Im Chon Il, Vice-minister of Foreign Affairs of DPRK;
Recently the US imperialists tried to take issue with the development of friendly relations between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK ) and the Russian Federation . The US have even gone as far to say that such developments violated 'international law ' and 'UN resolutions '. Comrade Im Chon Il the vice Foreign Minister of the DPRK issued a press statement on the 1st of October refuting the arrant nonsense of the US.
Comrade Im Chon Il rightly brands the US ill-considered remarks as " a vivid expression of the U.S. hegemony-oriented way of thinking based on the Cold War-style confrontation logic.".
The fact is that is it is not the business of the US which countries the DPRK develops relations with or which countries that the DPRK supreme leader visits . It is the independent right and choice of the DPRK to decide which countries it has relations with . The recent visit to the Russian Federation of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN fostered the development of neighbourly relations between the DPRK and Russia as well as making a great contribution of peace and stability in the region.
As comrade Im Chon Il rightly points out the hostility of the US to the development of DPRK-Russia relations only goes to prove that the US 'lacks power and wits in the showdown with the anti-imperialist independent countries.'
The US must not interfere in the development of the DPRK's external relations . We are confident that the DPRK will continue to expand its external relations on the basis of independence , peace and friendship .
