An online meeting for the Day of Songun, the 63rd anniversary of the start of the Songun revolutionary leadership, and the 54th anniversary of the formation of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front of south Korea was held at 1900 hours on the 25th of August and hosted by the Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK , the Korean Friendship Association of the UK and the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea. Participating in the meeting were members and officials of KFA UK from London, West of England, Staffordshire and Scotland as well as KFA Germany, KFA Greece, the People’s Korea Initiative of Poland and a guest from Canada.
Dr Dermot Hudson, Chairman of KFA UK and Chairman of the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea praised the Songun revolutionary leadership saying
“The great leader generalissimo KIM JONG IL carried forward the cause of Juche-army building and Songun revolutionary leadership pioneered by the great leader President KIM IL SUNG. During the five decades of Songun revolutionary leadership, the heroic Korean People's Army was built up splendidly in all fields not just in terms of weaponry and technique but in terms of ideology and morale” adding that “Whilst many countries ended up losing their independence and falling into neo-colonial slavery, People’s Korea maintained independence thanks to Songun”
The vice-chairman of KFA Germany stated that
“ Songun means military first. Pacifists and other idealists may scream, that this would be militarism and that the resources used for self-defense should be used for other things like healthcare, education etc. But these people forget, that the DPRK has its strong military for a reason. After the liberation of Korea, the US occupied the southern half of Korea. In 1950, the US invaded the northern part of Korea, trying to destroy the DPRK. Today, the US-imperialists are preparing to start a nuclear war against people's Korea. The only way to secure the achievements of socialism, the free housing, -healthcare and -education, the high quality of life, the freedom from taxation, exploitation and oppression, is by having a strong military, defending it”
Other speakers praised the Songun policy. There was a short discussion on the Songun policy.
Dr Hudson referring to the 54th anniversary of the foundation of the Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front of south Korea as the Revolutionary Party for Reunification stressed that the AINDF has travelled the road of anti-imperialist independent struggle in south Korea bravely upholding the Juche idea and the teachings of the great leaders on reunification. Dr Hudson said that KFA UK is proud to have relations with the AINDF and that he has visited the AINDF mission many times
The head of Staffordshire KFA UK branch said that next year it is the 55th anniversary of the foundation of the AINDF so an event should be held to celebrate it.
A message to dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN was adopted.
The short documentary “ Kim Jong Il the Anti-Imperialist Supreme Commander” was shown .
The meeting concluded at 20.30 hours.
