  All the successes made in politics, the economy, culture and all other fields for nearly half a century since the 1960s are unthinkable apart from the uncommon guidance of the great leader Kim Jong Il.

  Kim Jong Il took the field of literature and the arts upon himself from December of the year when he began his work at the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea.

  He concentrated all efforts on the cinematic art which can be called a comprehensive art and made a breakthrough in it, developing literature and the arts as a whole.

  As a result, tens of films based on the realities of life were created and the five revolutionary operas, the five revolutionary dramas and the four famous dances produced as masterpieces of Korean style, thus opening up the socialist Renaissance. The world people called the era "the period of Renaissance in the 20th century".

  Between the mid-1970s and the late 1980s, Kim Jong Il conducted a bold operation to build a number of modern streets and tens of monumental edifices in 15 years' time with a plan to change the capital Pyongyang into a magnificent and beautiful city, thus opening up a "period of prosperity of Pyongyang".

  He also guided light industry, agriculture and different other fields in order to improve the people's living.

  In the early 1990s, some socialist countries were collapsed.

  With his energetic ideological and theoretical activities Kim Jong Il comprehensively analyzed and summed up the historical lesson from the building of a socialist ruling party and proved the scientific accuracy and truthfulness of socialism and the inevitability of its victory, greatly encouraging the world socialist movement.

  After the great leader Kim Il Sung, the founder of the WPK, passed away, the imperialists directed their spearhead of attack to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea advancing under the banner of socialism.

  In the mid-1990s, Kim Jong Il enforced his original Songun (military-first) politics to frustrate the isolation and suffocation moves of the imperialists and firmly defend socialism of Korean style and speed up the economic construction, laying a solid foundation for putting the whole economy of the country on a track of steady development.

   Like this, tens of years of Kim Jong Il's leadership over the WPK shines as the annals of great change and creation when fundamental changes were brought about in the revolution and construction.
