Dear comrades  

wish to make Morning Star readers aware of a horrendous crime against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea(DPRK ) by the south Korean puppet clique and so-called ‘defectors ‘ from the DPRK staying in south Korea .

As revealed by the report of the State Emergency Epidemic Prevention Headquarters in the DPRK on June 30th , the cause of the outbreak of Covid 19  in the DPRK which claimed 74 lives and caused damage to the economy was the the  inroad of the disease into the DPRK from south Korea.

Covid 19 was sent into the DPRK on objects such as banknotes and leaflets , which had been smeared with Covid 19 , flown across the Demiltarised Zone(DMZ) on balloons by ‘defectors ‘. An investigation traced the outbreak of the disease to an area in Kangwon province of the DPRK which adjoins the DMZ and south Korea . Given the fact that nearly 40 per cent of the population of south Korea are infected with Covid 19 ,it is more likely that illness came from there rather than elsewhere such as China.

 The aim of the south Korean puppets was to create chaos in the DPRK and bring about the overthrow of the socialist system of the DPRK.Of course , thanks to the measures taken by the DPRK government  this did not happen.

  These actions are a repeat of the biological warfare against the DPRK in 1950 by the US imperialists.

Those responsible for this crime against the people of the DPRK and crime against humanity should be brought to justice and punished.
