June 25 Specter Hovers in Australia

72 years ago, the United States provoked the Korean War on June 25, 1950. Australia is among the 15 satellite countries that entered our sacred land following the U.S. and left indelible traces of crime on our Korean people.

The descendants of Anglo-Saxons, who built a country called the Commonwealth of Australia on the skeletons of the indigenous people, dispatched a large contingent of troops of land, sea and air forces to the Korean War, including 3 infantry regiments. But what they gained in return are only 250-odd ownerless corpses.

When the U.S. ignited the aggressive wars in Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere after the Korean War, Australia also rendered loyal service to the U.S. as its minions, surrogate police and cannon fodder. Because of this, Australia became subject to harsh criticism from the fair-minded world people.

Nevertheless, Australia, far from atoning for its past crime, is still hell-bent on finding fault with others following the dictates of its master.

High-ranking officials of Australia in political and army circles such as the prime minister, foreign minister and defense minister persist in their hostile policy towards the DPRK, often talking about “missile threat” and “human rights issue” of the given country.

Australia has dispatched its warships and planes at any time to the vicinity of the Korean peninsula under the pretext of monitoring the enforcement of anti-DPRK “sanctions”. Not content with this, it didn’t hesitate in 2017 to block the entry into its country by DPRK’s football players to participate in the AFC U-19 Championship 2018 Qualifiers, running counter to the fundamental idea of sport on promoting the friendship and development of civilization among various countries in the world.

We are not sure whether it’s due to the self-humiliation of being an isolated continent in the middle of ocean or the hereditary sense of guilt handed down from its predecessors who banished from the mainland of UK. Anyway, the mentality of Australian politicians seems abnormal.

Australian politicians should be well aware of the fact that it would pay the price incomparable to 72 years ago, if it blindly follows the U.S. and persists in the confrontation against us.

There cannot be a bright future for the country which denies the present reality and finds fault with others, far from atoning for its past.

Australian politicians would be well-advised to stop, though belatedly, its ignorant, reckless and indiscreet moves of self-destruction and deal with the issue of the Korean peninsula with a right sense of judging the situation.
