The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK), the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI) , the UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA) and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula (BSCPRKP) issued the following joint statement on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the historic July 4th north-south joint statement.
The July 4th joint statement stands out as a great landmark in the history of the struggle for the reunification of Korea. It was this statement that established the three basic fundamental principles of national reunification, that became the three charters of national reunification namely independence, peace and great national unity. It was signed thanks to the persevering efforts of the great leader President KIM IL SUNG who made reunification the central task.
The 4th of July joint statement was a creative application of the great Juche idea to the question of the reunification as laid down the principle that reunification should be achieved by the efforts of the Korean people without interference from outsiders. Thus the Juche-orientated thought of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG was fully realised by the 4th July statement. The 4th of July statement fully reflected the will and aspirations of the Korean people to reunify Korea independently . It set out a most realistic policy to peacefully reunify Korea.
The hopes of the entire Korean people north and south for reunification which rose higher because of the 4th of July statement were torn asunder by the fascist puppet regime of Park Chung Hee.
Although 50 years have passed since the July 4th joint statement the goal of Korean reunification remains unrealised . This is due to the continued occupation of south Korea by the US imperialists and the hostile policy of the US as well as the moves of the south Korean fascist puppets .
KOREA IS ONE!
