Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK) , the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea (BGSJI ), the Korean Friendship Association of the UK (KFA UK ) and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and the Committee for Peace and Reunification (BSCPKP) ,issued the following joint statement denouncing the war "Pacific Dragon ' to be staged in August;
On the 11th of June the US imperialists together with the south Korean puppets and Japanse militarists announced their intention to stage the ' Pacific Dragon' in Hawai in August . Supposedly the exercises is to 'to detect and track ballistic missiles '. The exercise will be joined by Australia and possibly Canada. It will held in tandem with the aggressive RIMPAC exercise .
The hidden aim behind the Pacific Dragon exercise is to increase military co-operation between the US , Japan and south Korea as well as knocking a 'mini NATO ' in north east Asia .Such moves can only severely threaten peace and stablity in Asia and the Pacific . NATO has been disastrous in Europe and has caused countless wars .
Moreover the exercises are aimed at stifling the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the bastion of independence and socialism .
We strongly denounce 'Pacfic Dragon ' and call for it to be cancelled.
