Music is devoted to amply reflecting peculiar sentiments and emotions of the countries and nations across the world, and accordingly, trans-boundary exchanges of musical art greatly serve to promote friendly relations among the peoples of the countries.
In the recent past, young pianists from our country wonderfully portrayed the European traditional classical music, thus contributing, to a larger extent, to adding luster to the music festivals in Europe. European artistes are still recalling with deep emotions the musical prodigies of our country.
At the 12th Ettlingen International Competition for Young Pianists held in Ettlingen, Germany, in August 2010, Pak Kon Ui from our country took third place, being also honored to win “Baerenreiter Urtext Prize”, special prize of the Competition.
The Organizing Committee of 2016 Ettlingen International Competition for Young Pianists invited Pak Kon Ui, who had displayed outstanding quality at the said Competition in 2010, to the 15th Ettlingen International Competition for Young Pianists without preliminary examination on an exceptional basis. Pak Kon Ui took second place in the Competition.
At the 20th International Frédéric Chopin Piano Competition for Children and Youth held in Szafarnia, Poland, in May 2012, Choe Jang Hung was awarded first prize, and Ri Yu Jong won special prize in Group I. Han Si Nae was awarded both first prize and special prize in Group II, and Pak Mi Yong won second prize in Group IV.
Ma Sin A, known as a gifted musical prodigy, took first place in Category I at the 4th International Franz Liszt Competition for Young Pianists held in Weimar, Germany, in November 2014, to be followed again by receiving both first prize and prize for best performance in Group II at the 24th International Frédéric Chopin Piano Competition for Children and Youth held in Szafarnia, Poland, in May 2016.
These illustrate how the musical prodigies of our country stood in the spotlight of the world music arena and left deep impressions on the European art circle by taking part in the piano competitions of European countries.
All of them are the prodigies born of the early-stage music education system of our country.
The early-stage music education system is considered the cradles for musical prodigies.
All their successful results gained at the international art festivals have been possible by the superiority and vitality of excellent early-stage music education system of our country, that brought the buds of their aptitudes into full bloom.
Pursuant to the policy of the Party and the government, kindergartens and music schools majoring in early-stage music education have sprung up across the country, and the musical prodigies are thus growing up at state expense into excellent music talents by giving full play to their aptitudes.
Our musical prodigies will continue to play positive contributions to the multifaceted cultural exchanges between our country and the European countries and to the development of friendly relations among the peoples.
