Sometimes time passes slowly with even a day seeming like eternity or a lifetime and at other times days , months and years speed by . It is now five years since respected Marshal KIM JONG UN was elected by the Supreme People’s Assembly as the Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the DPRK, the highest office of state on the 29th of June 2016 having previously been the First Chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK since April 2012 .
Since the election of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN as Chairman of the State Affairs Commission , the years have passed by so quickly like lighting and many great achievements which would have taken decades have been made .
During the past five years People’s Korea successfully concluded the Pyongjin line of building the economy and nuclear force in parallel People’s Korea crossed the nuclear finishing line to become a socialist nuclear power of Juche and a member of the ‘ICBM club ‘ ( the small group of countries that posses Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles ) . This was a truly remarkable achievement especially when you consider that a hundred years ago Korea was not shown on the world map because it was a colony of the brutal Japanese imperialists and had been overrun because it had no armed forces of its own to speak about . Basically , respected Marshal KIM JONG UN was able to create a level playing field for the DPRK in international negotiations .
The world gasped in amazement when the first ever DPRK-US summit was held and 3 inter-Korean summits were held . This was something unprecedented and unexpected. Many had assumed that the outbreak of war between the DPRK and US was simply a matter of time but instead negotiations were held. At the same time the DPRK greatly expanded its external relations by holding summits with China , Russia , Vietnam and Cuba .
At the same time respected Marshal KIM JONG UN has maintained the principle of independence . Some claimed that the DPRK would unilaterally disarm after it held the summit with the US but three years on not a single nuke or ICBM has been dismantled ! Compare that to the revisionist Soviet leader Khruschov who pulled the Soviet missiles out of Cuba after just 6 days and allowed Soviet ships to be inspected by the US ! .
Marshal KIM JONG UN values the dignity of the DPRK and will not sell or bargain with it .
During his leadership of the State Affairs Commission respected Marshal KIM JONG UN firmly stressed the our state -first idea . Moreover he has consistently stipulated that self-reliance and self-development is the main principle to be adhered to in the work of building the economy as well the fact that the engine of growth of the economy is self-reliance .
Thanks to the application of self-reliance, the DPRK ‘s economy has grown . The DPRK has produced its own domestically manufactured underground trains and light planes . It has also carried out huge construction projects . Streets the size of small towns in Pyongyang and a whole new city at Samjiyon were constructed despite the extremely harsh sanctions and blockade of the imperialists and hostile forces . Moreover in order to prevent the inroad of deadly Covid 19 the DPRK closed its borders in January 2020 . Some countries would not last a few days if that with their borders closed but the DPRK has survived for 18 months . The economy is stable and recorded an increase in industrial output of 25 per cent , the highest rate of growth in the whole world but the mainstream media hides this fact from people .
Respected Marshal KIM JONG UN is a true people’s leader who ensures that economic growth benefits the people . A project to build many homes on the Potong riverside was initiated by him this year and a total of 10,000 new homes will be built in Pyongyang . When floods and typhoons struck the DPRK last autumn , respected Marshal KIM JONG UN rushed to the scene and instructed that not only should those who had lost their homes in the floods receive new homes free of charge but they should be better than the former ones.
The five years of respected Marshal KIM JONG UN’s leadership of the State Affairs Commission have been five great years of rapid development in People’s Korea.
