With the incineration of the Songju archive, the Chronicles of the Feudal Joson Dynasty, a great national asset, were burnt up.

The chronicles were known to the world for their true records of the historical facts, immense in volume, unique in the descriptive system and valuable in historical materials.

These books had been printed in four copies and kept in custody each in Chunchu Hall, Songju archive, Chungju archive and Jonju archive respectively.

However, the Japanese invaders arsoned not only the Songju archive but also those in the Chunch Hall and Chungju archive.

Fortunately, those in the Jonju archive survived from the disaster by the efforts of the patriotic people.

The partiotic people took the Chrocicles of the Feudal Joson Dynasty, the History of Koryo and other valuable national classics to Mt. Naejang and again moved them by sea to Haeju, Hwanghae Province when it was imminent that the invader army was making an inroad to Jolla Province and later brought them to Pulyongdae in Mt. Myohyang. It was how the Chrocicles of the Feudal Joson Dynasty, the History of Koryo and other valuable national classics could evade the damage by war.
