KCNA Commentary Accuses Japan of Disturbing Regional Peace and Security

Pyongyang, April 6 (KCNA) -- Shortly ago, Prime Minister of Japan Suga branded the DPRK's test-fire of new-type tactical guided missiles as a "threat" to Japan and a "violation of the UN Security Council resolutions".

This can never be overlooked as it is an undisguised denial of and wanton infringement on the right of the DPRK to self-defence.

No one is entitled to find fault with the steps taken by the DPRK for bolstering its defence capabilities as they constitute an entirely just exercise of its right to self-defence to thwart the military threats from outside forces and reliably preserve the security and peace of the Korean peninsula.

Nevertheless, Japan desperately slanders the DPRK's regular activities for strengthening its defence capabilities.

Lurking behind it is the ulterior motive of those who have committed sins against the DPRK. They seek to disrupt the DPRK's rapid increase of power by creating an international atmosphere of pressurizing it and bring about a favorable situation for turning Japan into a military power by hyping up the security crisis.

At present, Japan is going to restore its rights to belligerency, participation in a war and having an army, all of which it is not allowed to possess as a war criminal state. To this end, it has already adopted the security legislation enabling it to exercise the right to collective self-defense and is working hard to round off its military capability for attack.

It lavishes the hugest-ever funds every year on the development and purchase of new war hardware, the establishment of new units for operations in outer space and electronic warfare, overseas dispatch of troops and military drills.

The international community is appalled by the fact that Japan, once a war criminal state that ignited wars of aggression in the past, has emerged as a world-class military entity.

Japan is the very one that poses a serious threat to regional peace and security.

The war criminal state should dismantle all its offensive weapons, already deployed or under development for reinvasion, in a complete, verifiable and irreversible way, instead of accusing others. -0-
