Commentary of AINDF Spokesman   Of late, the south Korean authorities put stress on the “south Korea-US alliance”. High-ranking officials of the Blue House, Ministries of Foreign Affairs and National Defense have had meetings with counterparts of the US to tighten the alliance.  The south Korean authorities’ behavior is pro-US sycophantic and confrontational stand that runs counter to the people’s demand for the abolition of the south Korea-US alliance and casts a shadow over the way of mending the inter-Korean relations. The US has exerted pressure upon south Korea with the increase of south Korea's share of defense cost for the US forces in south Korea and purchase of the US-made weaponry.   Their assertion of the tightened alliance would only invite dependence on foreign force and worsen moribund economy and the people’s livelihood.   It is disgusting that the south Korean authorities’ pro-US submission would help their ruin while the neighboring nations are striving for the supremacy of the world.   South Korean people from all walks of life should launch a stubborn drive to check the authorities’ policy for attaching priority to the alliance, mindful of that it would push volatile situation of the Korean Peninsula to the dangerous phase and throw south Korea into horror and uneasiness.     September 22, 2020
