Return US military base in Pyeongtaek!

 

A few days ago, a preparatory committee for the third national reunification meeting for national independence and great unity visited the US military base in Pyeongtaek to carry on the anti-US struggle. The organization called a news conference in demand of return of the US military base and withdrawal of the US forces from south Korea. They walked round the US military base and had an informal gathering.     Let’s accelerate the nationwide anti-US action with the third national reunification meeting to be held in Seoul on August 14 as an occasion, Kim Dong-soon, the chairman of the Seoul branch of the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea’s Reunification said. We have been carrying on struggle to remove the US military base for over two years. We hope that the national meeting would encourage the anti-US struggle across south Korea and serve as a priming powder arousing the people to nationwide anti-US struggle, Rev. Jang Chang-won said. The history of the world progressives’ anti-US struggle teaches lessons. It shows us that we can avert a war and drive out the foreign forces from south Korea when we get united. Had the Korean people pool their efforts, they would withdraw the US forces from south Korea without fail as like they drove out Japanese imperialists in the past , Hyun Pil-gyeong, the chief of the institute for return of the US military base stressed. They walked round the US military base in Pyeongtaek.
