Brief Summary by UK KFA of the 3rd Session of the 14th Session of the Supreme People's Assembly

The Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK met on the 13th of April Here are some of the key points and highlights of the meeting

• - new members of State Affairs Commission(SAC) such as Ri Pyong Chol and Foreign Minister Ri Son Gwon elected . Former foreign minister Ri Yong Ho and former WPK vice-chairman voted off .
• -no cases of Covid 19 in the country
• -plan for industrial output was overfull filed by 8 per cent
• -DPRK has a budgetary surplus as state budgetary revenue plan overfull filed by 1.5 per cent but slight under spend of 0.2 per cent on expenditure
• -in the coming financial year on average public spending will rise by 5.1 per cent with a 7.4 per cent in spending on health
• -the Cabinet will boost its role as the organizer of the state economy and and guide the economy in a unified manner . Basically strengthening socialist planning or central planning rather than 'market reforms'
