Very active Czech anti-DPRK activist Nina Špitálníková uses a false identity on her Facebook site (https://www.facebook.com/spitalnikovanina/) for an alleged DPRK defector Ri Yo Jong, reportedly now living in Seoul, and publishes stories of her "suffering". However, the images of this alleged defector are based on a well-known photograph of a young Korean woman from the DPRK by Romanian photographer Mihaela Noroc. As stated on the Mihaela Noroc site: "She was working in a hotel in Sinuiju." (https://maptia.com/mihaelanoroc/stories/the-atlas-of-beauty-north-korea). She is certainly not a defector.
Can we trust "refugee stories" from "human rights activists" such as Nina Špitálníková, even if the "defector" identity is alienated from a DPRK citizen?
