Pyongyang, March 6 (KCNA) -- Election of deputies to the 14th Supreme People's Assembly is to be held in the DPRK on March 10.
The Korean people are now striving to greet the forthcoming election, an important work for consolidating the national sovereignty, with high political zeal and labor achievements.
The election system of the DPRK is most popular and democratic as it makes all citizens take part in the election of power organs with equal rights.
In the DPRK, any citizen aged over 17 has a right to elect or be elected, irrespective of sex, nationality, occupation, property status, education, party affiliation, political view and religious belief, in the universal and equal election principles.
Election in the country is aimed to further cement the people's power by forming power organs at all levels with true servants of people. Anyone can nominate true representatives as candidates for deputies by exercising voting rights.
It is ensured on the basis of the direct election principle and ballot method.
Sub-constituencies are organized for the convenience of voters and mobile ballot boxes are available to those who are unable to go to the polls.
In the DPRK election is regarded as an important occasion in further strengthening the government and displaying the solidity and invincibility of the socialist system in which the leader, the party and the masses form a harmonious whole. -0-
