London 22nd of February Juche 108(2019)
The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK),the Juche Idea Study Group of England(JISGE),the UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA) and the British Solidarity Committee for Peace and Reunification on the Korean Peninsula (BSCPRKP) produced a short article on the forthcoming elections to the Supreme People's Assembly in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea :
People's Korea is holding its own popular , democratic , general election on March 10th . The citizens of the DPRK will fully exercise their democratic rights to elect deputies to the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK, in fact it will be an exercises in people's power and people's democracy.
Elections in capitalist countries are characterised by fraud , mudslinging and gerrymandering . However in People's Korea , elections take place on the basis of equal universal suffrage with everyone over the age of 17 being given a vote. No candidate may stand in more than one consticuency. Candidates are chosen by the Democratic Front for the Reunification of the Fatherland (DFRF)which is composed of political parties such as the Workers' Party of Korea , trade unions , the Womens Union, youth league and agricultural working people's union .  The DFRF is  genuine mass democratic organisation representing millions of DPRK citizens , in fact virtually everyone in the DPRK.

In capitalist countries there is much cynicism and negativity about elections . People complain that although there 'all politicians  are the same ' , 'there is no difference ' between the competing parties,  that 'politicians do nothing for people' and that 'politicans are just out to line their own pockets'. As a result the turnout in elections in capitalist countries is falling all the time . In the last UK general election  the turnout was 68 per cent , meaning 32 per cent of electors did not bother to vote. This is the tip of the iceberg as some people have no even bothered to register for elections . In factthe British government was elected by a minority of the adult population . In the US presidential election in 2016 , voter turnout was only 55 per cent . In the DPRK  in the 2014 election the turnout of voters was 99.97 per cent . Thus the DPRK is a real democracy because the deputies of the Supreme People's Assemby have a real mandate and have real popular support .
The elections to the 14th Supreme People's Assemby will once again demonstrate the superiority of the Juche-based ,.people's democratic election system in the DPRK.
LONG LIVE PEOPLE'S KOREA !
LONG LIVE JUCHE !
