Joint Appeal of Meeting for National Reunification Issued

Pyongyang, October 6 (KCNA) -- A joint appeal of the meeting for national reunification marking the 11th anniversary of the publication of the October 4 declaration was released on Friday.

The appeal said 11 years have passed since the top leaders of the north and the south signed the October 4 declaration for the development of the north-south relations, peace and prosperity, a practical proposal for implementing the historic June 15 joint declaration.

The historic Panmunjom declaration and the "September Pyongyang Joint Declaration" are the shining succession to the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, and serve as a new landmark for reunification common to the nation for making epochal development of the north-south relations and bringing earlier the future of peaceful reunification, as desired by all fellow countrymen for reunification and demanded by the new era, it noted.
