United Nations' Security Council Sanctions are unfair and biased against the sovereignty of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea-Staffordshire Korean Friendship Association

The Staffordshire Branch of the UK KFA utterly and totally condemn the decision of the UNSC to impose sanctions upon the DPRK for carrying out a successful H-Bomb Test. This set of sanctions are only the latest round in a long running campaign to isolate and stifle the independence of the DPRK. The so-called international community has made it a crime for a nation state to defend itself, every country has the legitimate right to its protect its system and citizens from invasion and attack. The DPRK has faced unilaterally for many decades the risk of a nuclear strike from the US and its military bases in south Korea, nuclear weapons were introduced into the southern half of Korea in 1957. Now the DPRK has the means to deliver a counter-attack by its development of nuclear weapons and missile systems. By conducting weapons' tests on its national soil, has the DPRK violated international law and the answer is a clear NO! The main violator of interstate norms is the United States, which has invaded more than 200 countries since 1945.
On many occasions the DPRK Government has proposed a peace treaty with the USA. But the response from Washington has been one of hostility and confrontation. The Trump Administration appears to be dead set on a course of starting a nuclear war in Korea. A limited nuclear war is a day dream of the imperialists, which will turn into a nightmare for the US ruling elite. The DPRK threatens nobody and just wants peace and good relations with all countries, irrespective of their socials systems. Sanctions by their nature are an act of war and provocation to actual combat. Those nations which voted for the sanctions on the UNSC should reflect that attempting to get favours from US imperialism will ultimately get their countries nowhere and may end up on the US list for regime change.
The Staffordshire UK KFA Branch calls upon the Peace and Labour Movements to oppose sanctions and aggression against the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea and strive for solidarity with the Korean people. All progressive people should stand for peace and reunification in Korea and oppose US imperialist war moves. We shall stand with the Korean people forever in our common just cause!!
