Kowtowing to Japan Is Act of Treachery: KCNA Commentary
Pyongyang, June 19 (KCNA) -- Recently, Jong Se Gyun, speaker of the "National Assembly" of south Korea, visited Japan and talked about "development of the forward-looking and ripen partnership" between south Korea and Japan.
How can they talk about "the forward-looking ties" leaving the thrice-cursed crimes of Japan, which has not settled its past crimes including the issue of the state-sponsored sexual slavery it committed against the Korean people?
Here is an example of the heinous remarks made by Liberal Democratic Party Secretary General of Japan Nikai when visiting south Korea as a special envoy of Prime Minister Abe on June 10.
Going round various parts of south Korea, Nikai made rubbish insulting and threatening the south Korean people, who demanded renegotiations of the "agreement" on the issue of sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army. He called for "getting along well without quarrelling over tiny things," uttering that "those hatching plots have to be obliterated."
These are arrogant and impertinent remarks insulting south Korean people demanding the abrogation of the humiliating "agreement" on the sexual slavery the Park Geun Hye group adopted with Japan, and intolerable mockery and open challenge to the entire Korean nation demanding the thorough settlement of the past crimes of the Japanese imperialists.
The above-said "agreement" is the traitorous one as it gave acquittal to the thrice-cursed crimes of sexual slavery of Japan in return for a petty amount of money.
That is why it is facing bitter condemnation and rebuff from all Koreans including the victims of the sexual slavery and south Korean people and the voices demanding its scrapping are increasing as the days go by.
It is by no means fortuitous that the UN and other international organizations take issue with the illegality of the "agreement" and its inhumane nature, calling for its nullification.
Labeling just people as "those hatching plots" and "a handful group" and crying out for "obliterating them is reckless remarks revealing the brutality, crafty nature and ferocity of the Japs.
It is the unanimous demand of south Korean people and all other Koreans to nullify the "agreement", one of evils left by the Park Geun Hye group, and force Japan to make a thousand-fold apology and reparation for the crimes.
Nevertheless, the south Korean authorities kowtowed to Japan, begging for "improvement of ties", far from faulting the arbitrary acts of the Japanese reactionaries. This is the unpardonable act of insulting the victims of the sexual slavery for the Imperial Japanese Army and paying no heed to the blood-stained crimes of the past.
Such humiliating behavior will incite the ambition for reinvasion of the Japanese reactionaries trying to gloss over the heinous sexual slavery with a few amount of money without an apology and proper reparation and rushing headlong to overseas expansion.
This is tantamount to the act of the present south Korean authorities to follow in the footsteps of the Park Geun Hye group.
Now all Koreans more enthusiastically call for opening the way for independent reunification by pooling the efforts in the spirit of By Our Nation Itself. At this time trumpeting about "nuclear threats from the north" together with the Japs is an unpardonable act for confrontation with the compatriots.
It is high time for Koreans in the north and the south pooled their efforts to smash the moves of the Japanese reactionaries to turn Japan into a military giant and their wild ambition for reinvading the Korean peninsula. So, scheming the confrontation with the fellow countrymen in the north in collusion with Japan, the sworn enemy of the Korean nation, is as foolish as helping sharpen knives aiming at one's house.
The south Korean authorities would be well advised to draw a lesson from the miserable destiny of the Park Geun Hye group which ruined after resorting to pro-U.S. and pro-Japanese acts and confrontation with the compatriots and bear in mind the spirit of national independence and the spirit of By Our Nation Itself. -0
