The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK(ASSPUK), the Juche Idea Study Group of England(JISGE) , the UK Korean Friendship Association(UK KFA)and UK Preparatory Committee For the 2017 Gathering to Praise the Great Persons Born of Mt Paektu issued a joint statement on the 50th anniversary of the publication of the historic classic work of the great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG " ON THE QUESTIONS OF THE PERIOD OF TRANSITION FROM CAPITALISM TO SOCIALISM AND THE DICTATORSHIP OF THE PROLETARIAT"
  On the 25th of May it was 50 years since the great leader President KIM IL SUNG made public his historic Juche-orientated classic thesis  "ON THE QUESTIONS OF THE PERIOD OF TRANSITION FROM CAPITALISM TO SOCIALISM AND THE DICTATORSHIP OF THE PROLETARIAT".
 In the mid 1960s the socialist camp and international communist movement had become severely split due to modern revisionism and Left opportunism .The great leader comrade KIM IL SUNG was determined to steer a fully independent course for Korean socialism and reject modern revisionism a
and Left opportunism. One question on which the modern revisionists and Left opportunists had caused a lot of damaging confusion on was the question of the transition period from capitalism to socialism and the the related issue of the dictatorship of the proletariat .In some countries serious losses were experienced in socialist construction due to incorrect theories.  comrade KIM IL SUNG
pointed out that "Like all other scientific and theoretical problems, the questions of the transition period and the dictatorship of the proletariat must also be solved from our Party’s Juche viewpoint. You should neither cling to propositions of the classics and try to settle the questions dogmatically nor be enthralled by the ideas of flunkeyism and try to interpret the issues as others do"
  So comrade KIM IL SUNG looked at the question from a fresh Juche-orientated viewpoint . Many years had passed since Marx and Lenin formulated their ideas on these questions. Moreover Marx's theories were elaborated with developed capitalist countries in mind. So the questions need to be studied anew from the standpoint of the DPRK's reality .
   The modern revisionists advocated dissolving the dictatorship of the proletariat,claiming that the transition to socialism ended the socialist revolution was complete. They went as far as to proclaim a "state of the whole people" . Comrade KIM IL SUNG criticised this wrongheaded views  saying that
 "This viewpoint stems from the ideological view of abandoning the class struggle against survivors of the overthrown exploiter classes internally, and internationally refraining from the world revolution, by choosing to live at peace with imperialism".
  He made it clear that class struggle continues under socialism and must be liquidated or slackened.
  Comrade KIM IL SUNG also criticised the Left opportunists for saying that the transition period only came to an end when the higher phase of communism was reached  pointing out that
"So, it is, in fact, tantamount to drawing no dividing line at all to regard the transition period as the period extending up to such a higher phase of communism. ".
  In the work comrade KIM IL SUNG puts forward a number of practical tasks to be undertaken in order to successfully advance towards the complete victory of socialism such as working-classizing and intellectualising the whole of society.
  This work is a brilliant work that showed how to avoid Rightist and Leftist deviations in building
socialism . It validity has been proved in practice because the DPRK successfully constructed socialism and did not collapse. It is a work worthy of deep study.
