History of Launch of Artificial Satellites in the DPRK

The history that the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea started to manufacture and launch artificial satellites by itself is not so long.
In August Juche 87(1998) the DPRK launched successfully the first artificial satellite Kwangmyongsong-1.
11 years later since then, in April Juche 98(2009) Kwangmyongsong-2 was launched successfully for the second time.
Kwangmyongsong-1 and Kwangmyongsong-2 were test satellites.
The DPRK acceded to international space treaties including the Outer Space Treaty in order to increase the international trust and strengthen the cooperation in the peaceful space scientific research and the satellite launching domain.
The DPRK launched successfully the first applications satellite Kwangmyongsong 3-2.
The first applications satellite Kwangmyongsong 3-2 is an earth observation satellite which goes round the polar orbit.
On February 7, Juche 105(2016), an earth observation satellite Kwangmyongsong-4 was launched successfully in the DPRK again.
Kwangmyongsong-4 is an applications satellite which goes round the polar orbit too.
Therefore the DPRK demonstrated grandeur of the manufacturing and launching country of artificial satellite to the whole world again.
In the future the DPRK will conquer space and make an active contribution to its economic construction and improvement of the people’s living by legitimately exercising the right to use space for peaceful purpose.
