The ASSPUK , JISGE and UK KFA today issued the following statement on the 56th anniversary of the foundation of the Worker-Peasant Red Guard of the DPRK
Today is the 56th anniversary of the formation of the Worker-Peasant Red Guard ! On the 14th of January 1959 the great leader President KIM IL SUNG founded the Worker-Peasant Red Guard(WPRG) as the Juche-orientated mass defence force of the DPRK and the revolutionary armed milita force of the Workers' Party of Korea .
The WPRG is composed of factory and office workers and farm workers in the countryside . They stand guard over their workplaces , ready to crush the US imperialists at a stroke should they attempt to invade the DPRK . Many of us visiting the DPRK have seen WPRG members ,many of them women, proudly standing guard at different institutions .
President KIM IL SUNG drew on the experience of the anti-Japanese revolutionary armed struggle in which all people defence of guerrilla bases was undertaken and all people resistance to the Japanese imperialist aggressors was carried out.
The WPRG is today a powerful Juche-orienated revolutionary milita force equipped with a variety of weapons. The WPRG held successful parades in 2002, 2008 and 2013.
The WPRG members are carrying out socialist construction with a hammer or pick in one hand and a rifle in the other hand. The WPRG will destroy the US imperialist aggressors in a stroke !
