The Munsu Water Park was newly
built on the picturesque bank of Taedong River in Pyongyang, the
capital of the DPRK.
Built on a site of over 100
000m2, the large water park comprises outdoor and indoor
wading pools, an indoor gymnasium and different kinds of outdoor
sports facilities.
It is a leading water park in
the world.
The outdoor wading pool is
equipped with a flowing water tank, ultrasonic wave tank, wave tank
and the latest water slides.
There are 14 water slides
including a nose dive straight line slide on which a slider falls at
the speed of 20m/s.
Spectacular indeed is the indoor
wading pool.
It comprises a swimming pool,
wave tank, sea water tank, 2 water slide tanks, tank for mothers and
children, ultrasonic wave tank and other tanks and is equipped with
different kinds of saunas, shower rooms, fitness room, amusement
room, barber’s shop, beauty parlour, massage room, restaurants and
reading room.
On the roof of the indoor wading
pool there are a volleyball court, badminton court and basketball
court and around the outdoor wading pool there are a roller rink,
beach volleyball court, basketball court and other sports and
amusement facilities.
The respected Marshal Kim
Jong Un suggested
building the Munsu Water Park and examined its design on 113
occasions, giving energetic guidance to the whole course of project.
The water park was completed in
a matter of only 9 months by soldier builders.
It was inaugurated on October
15, Juche 102(2013).
The attendants at the ceremony
were surprised at a peculiar scene.
Senior officials of the Party
and the state held the ribbon and it was cut by ordinary people such
as a soldier, a student and a worker.
The unusual scene was showing
that ordinary working people and youth and children are the masters
of the new splendid recreation ground and the enjoyers of socialist
civilization.
Looking round the Munsu Water
Park, foreigners and overseas Koreans admire that the Workers’
Party of Korea’s plan of building a socialist civilized state is
being brought into reality under its people-centred politics.
