Breast Tumour Institute at the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital

Pyongyang Maternity Hospital in Pyongyang, the capital of the DPRK is a comprehensive medical service center for women.
Today Korean women call the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital their parents’ home.
At the hospital there was newly built the Breast Tumour Institute, a comprehensive medical service and scientific research center for women.
Long time ago leader Kim Jong Il gave an instruction to organize a special section for the treatment of breast tumour at the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital and paid a deep attention to the treatment and study of breast diseases of women.
In November 2011, the last period of his life he made a request to build a modern breast tumour institute at the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital and personally examined its blue print.
In support of his noble intention the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un sent soldier builders for the construction of the institute and taught the orientation and ways of the project on the spot and wisely led the whole process of the construction.
As a result, the institute was built in a short time and opened on October 8, Juche 101 (2012).
The institute is provided with more than 30 kinds of the latest medical equipment.
The institute conducts medical service not only for women in Pyongyang, but across the country through a long distance service system.
It examines the health of women regularly to prevent mastitis and breast tumour earlier.
Early in November Juche 101 (2012) Marshal Kim Jong Un visited the institute and gave an instruction to always remember the request of leader Kim Jong Il and carry out the mission and task as faithful servants of the people.
In order to carry through his instruction the institute works hard to enhance the treatment and prevention of the breast diseases and scientific research on them onto a higher level.
Enjoying free medical care at the institute, Korean women are regaining good health and vitality and filled with determinations to contribute to the building of a thriving nation.
