| STATEMENT OF THE STOKE ON TRENT BRANCH OF THE JUCHE IDEA STUDY GROUP OF BRITAIN ON THE OCCASION OF THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE START OF THE SONGUN REVOLUTIONARY LEADERSHIP |
August 25th this year marks an extremely important anniversary in the annuals of the Korean Revolution. On 25th August 1960 KIM JONG IL gave guidance to the Ryu Kyong Seoul Guards Division of the Heroic Korean Peoples Army. This date is regarded as the beginning of the momentous Army-first or Songun Revolution. Over the past 50 years due to the creative policy of KIM JONG IL in emphasizing the role of the Korean Peoples Army as the main force of the Korean Revolution is the reason why Juche-orientated socialism has survived and triumphed in the DPRK.
The Stoke On Trent Branch of the Juche Idea Study Group takes this opportunity to congratulate the People and Army of the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea upon this significant anniversary. We the Juche Idea adherents in Britain are confident that the Korean people will be victorious in this noble cause because they have the Brilliant Songun Revolutionary Leadership of General KIM JONG IL.
With Songun Politics at the head KIM JONG IL has defended and consoildated the revolutionary legacy of KIM IL SUNG. At the moments when the Korean Revolution faced the issue of its survival, KIM JONG IL'S
Songun Leadership ensured the continuity and renewel of Korean-style socialism. It was the Korean Peoples Army which played the decisive role as the main force in building socialism overcoming many difficult circumstances.
The Korean people are now advancing towards the goal of building a powerful and prosperous Socialist country by the year of 2012- the centenary of the birth of President KIM IL SUNG. This objective of constructing a rich and powerful socialist nation by the independent efforts of the Korean people themsleves are becoming realized by the Songun Politics of Chairman KIM JONG IL. Over the past few years the DPRK has attained many positive results in the endeavour to achieve the goal of creating a strong and proserous Juche-based country by 2012, as witnessed in the profound successes gained in the 150 Day campaign of 2009 in all areas of social-economic activities in the DPRK.
Many countries around have been the victims of pressure and interference by the allied forces of imperialism led by the United States and have finally succumded to the hegemonists of Washington DC. History has proven the keen wisdom of Songun Politics as put forward by KIM JONG IL. Chairman KIM JONG IL 's giving priority to military affairs during the DPRK's efforts to build socialism, have ensured the survival and consoildation of the independent socialist system of Peoples Korea.
Socialist Korea continually faces the prospect of invasion from the United States and south Korea on a daily basis. The United States military has stationed in south Korea about 1,000 combat troops and has roughly 1,000 nuclear weapons aimed at the DPRK. In March 1993 the US kicked up a ricket about "north Korean nuclear weapons development" and threaten the DPRK with stern sanctions and punitive strikes. KIM JONG IL in response to these US imperialist threats, declared a state of semi-war and mobilized
the all the army and people in defence of the DPRK. The United States abandoned its war plans and negotiated the Framework Argeement with the DPRK in October 1994. This is clear evidence that Songun Politics guarantees both the peace and security on the Korean peninsula and internationally. It was KIM JONG IL'S Songun Politics that led to the signing of the landmark north-south agreement of June 15th 2000, leading to the roadmap of Peace and Independent Reunification in Korea at long last.
These days the US imperialists and the Lee Myong Bak clique are running amok with their vicious plans to isolate and destroy Socialist Korea. The far right Lee Myong Bak group have cooked up as a justification for their aggressive actions the so-called "Cheonan incident". Just in the period of the months of July and August 2010 the US and its south Korean puppets have carried out large scale warlike military exercises such as "Uliji Freedom Guardian" and "Rimpact".
Songun Politics has equipped the Korean Peoples Army with the strength to deal with any enemy. The might of the KPA is based upon its strong revolutionary ideology, that is the Revolutionary Soldier Spirit. The Songun Politics of KIM JONG IL have turned the KPA into a superior fighting force with the development of the Korean Peoples deterrent weapons. The guns of the KPA are precisely the guns of the Korean Revolution, the weapons of the Working Class. The whole People and the entire Army of the DPRK are united as a one in the firm defence of Juche-based socialism united around their Leader.
The Stoke On Trent of the Juche Idea Study Group of Britain calls upon all anti-imperialists, progressive and peace-loving people in the city of Stoke On Trent, Staffordshire and throughout Britain to celebrate this outstanding revolutionary anniversary. We urge all decent people to express soildarity with the Korean people, with the DPRK the beacon of Hope for Humanity!!
