 The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and  the  Korean Friendship Association of the UK  KFA  UK )  , issued a joint statement in support of the press statement of spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea(DPRK ) that was issued on Monday 21st of September ;

On the 16th of September  the so-called "Multilateral Sanctions Monitoring Team "(MSMT) ", a body that has no real legal authority whatsoever , published a report slandering the DPRK's routine economic  co-operation with other countries . The so-called report consists of fabricated information supplied by paid hack "academics " who pretend to the "experts " on the DPRK.

The so-called MSMT is a body that exists outside of the UN and was something cobbled together by the US and certain other Western countries that are satellite states of US imperialism . The DPRK Foreign Ministry spokesperson correctly states that "The MSMT is a ghost group lacking any legality in the justification and purpose of existence. Its illegal act committed under the signboard of implementing the UN "resolution" is just a violation of the UN Charter and international law and a mockery of the international community"

The MSMT has no right to interfere in relations between the DPRK and other countries .

The so-called MSMT is just a body created by the US and others to try and stifle the independent development of the DPRK by means of sanctions. As the DPRK Foreign Ministry spokesperson says " it is unchangeable that the MSMT is no more than a political tool for ensuring their specific interests and pressurizing sovereign states"

The DPRK will not bow down to the US and the other Western countries but will continue to develop friendly co-operative relations with other countries.

We denounce the MSMT and call for its dissolution !

Third Workshop for Officials in Information Sector of WPK Closes

Pyongyang, September 22 (KCNA) -- The Third Workshop for Officials in the Information Sector of the Workers' Party of Korea, which has added another brilliant page to the history of ideological work of the WPK, closed on September 21 after successfully concluding its scheduled work.

Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, attended the closing ceremony and made an important speech.

When he took the platform together with accompanying officials, all the audiences broke into enthusiastic cheers in reverence for Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un who organized the workshop in the crucial historic period of deciding the brilliant success and future of our cause and is working thoughtfully and painstakingly to make it an occasion of a radical turn in consolidating the politico-ideological might, the greatest national power of the DPRK, in every way.

In his speech, he expressed satisfaction over the fact that the workshop was successfully held in conformity with the desired purpose of making it a major process for innovating ideological work, whereby all the officials in the information sector of the Party have a full understanding of the Party's immutable ideology-first principle and their sense of duty to innovate the ideological work.

Saying that the officials in the information sector of the Party have hardened in a fresh manner their sacred revolutionary awareness and sense of heavy responsibility to increase our ideological resources a hundred times and consolidate the guarantee for carrying forward our cause, he referred to the fundamental principle the officials should always keep in mind as communists and to the absolute viability of the Juche-based theory of giving importance to ideology. And he clarified the firm stand of the Party Central Committee to realize our ideal without fail in the future dynamic struggle on the strength of the great revolutionary ideology, the greatest asset of the Party, and the might of the information and motivation work peculiar to the Party which turns the ideology into the might of transformation.

Comrade Kim Jong Un set forth the principled issues, to be adhered to in putting the contents, forms, methods and means of ideological work on the basis of progress and development in line with the expectations of the times, the revolution and the people waiting eagerly for fresh changes and innovations in information and motivation work and creation of cultures that will encourage and further diversify our struggle and life, and the important tasks and ways for ensuring the innovation in the ideological work of the whole Party.

He declared the workshop closed, stressing that a series of greater successes and innovations would be witnessed in our struggle for bringing earlier the great ideal and bright future with the irresistible might of ideology, he expressed the belief that all the participants would dynamically pave the avenue for advance in the new era with the zeal and courage befitting the ideological guards of the WPK under the uplifted banner of the ideology-first principle.

All the participants responded with stormy cheers and rapturous applause to his speech adding glory to their high honor as information workers of the ever-victorious WPK, which regards ideology as the most important weapon and guides the revolution by dint of ideology, and further hardening their sense of duty for the times and redoubling their revolutionary zeal.

They loudly sang in chorus the song "Long live the Workers' Party of Korea", in reflection of their faith and pledge to fulfill their duty as ideological guards in steadily writing textbooks on the ideological revolution, to be recorded in our Party history and handed down forever along with our era of transformation, by successfully carrying forward and developing the sacred history and tradition of our Party which pioneered a new era of Juche by rousing the people to the revolution on the strength of ideology.

The venue was filled with revolutionary enthusiasm of all the participants to further consolidate our political and ideological position and dynamically carry forward the upsurge in the overall development of socialism through a powerful ideological offensive, holding aloft the red Party flag of Juche.

The four-day workshop was held amid the extraordinary political consciousness and enthusiasm of all the participants to take the lead in the vigorous campaign for bringing about a radical change in ideological work and qualitatively strengthening the ideological position, an indispensable guarantee and key requirement for the steady succession to the cause of the WPK, with their fresh determination, redoubled efforts, mature qualifications and positive cultivation of traits.

There was an intensive study for deeply grasping the essence of the important speech made by Comrade Kim Jong Un at the opening ceremony of the Third Workshop for Officials in the Information Sector of the WPK.

Studying in depth the important document, which comprehensively deals with the precious guidelines for further developing the ideological resources, accumulated by our Party for a long time, the extraordinary potentials peculiar to the Korean revolution, at the level required by a new era, an era of comprehensive development when we have entered a new phase in the spheres of our struggle and in all our activities, all the participants hardened their revolutionary will to carry out without fail the policy of the Party Central Committee expecting positive changes in ideological work of the Party, which are stronger than the trend of the changing times and offensive-oriented in surpassing reality.

The workshop was held amid their high awareness that the success of ideological work depends on the qualifications and ability of them taking full charge of the ideological and information work.

Senior officials of the Information and Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the WPK and educational workers of the Central Cadres Training School of the WPK gave lectures at the workshop.

First, there was a lecture on concentrating all efforts of the ideological work of the Party on preparing all members of society as true loyalists and ardent patriots armed with the revolutionary ideas of great Comrade Kim Jong Un as their faith.

The lecturer theoretically explained that Comrade Kim Jong Un's revolutionary ideas are the guidelines of our Party and state in the new era and an encyclopedic action program for the revolution and construction as they comprehensively deal with the path and the strategy for carrying forward and accomplishing the revolutionary cause of Juche generation after generation under the banner of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism.

The lecture referred to the detailed issues for improving the effectiveness of the ideological and political work by further enhancing the sense of obligation and responsibility of the officials in the information sector of the Party in the struggle for modeling the entire Party and the whole society on the revolutionary ideology of great Comrade Kim Jong Un.

Then the workshop dealt with the issue of successfully conducting the education in the revolutionary relics and the leadership exploits of the Party, regarding it as the key point of ideological education.

The lecturer explained the methodological ways for further enhancing the cognitional and educational effect in education through the revolutionary relics and the leadership exploits of the Party, the root and starting point of the ideological work of the Party, and intensifying it in a substantial way on the principle of historicism and scientific accuracy.

There was a lecture on stepping up the information and publicity offensive to rouse the masses to implementation of the decisions of the Ninth Congress of the WPK.

Through the lecture, the participants kept deep in their minds the orientation of information and agitation work and all principled issues arising in making sure that the working spirit and traits, displayed in pioneering the era of comprehensive development, and the trend of gigantic changes prevailing in all sectors of socialist construction result in steady upsurge, and in properly setting the focus of ideological work in conformity with the specific conditions of every sector and unit to wage an intensive campaign for joint and collective innovations.

The workshop also dealt with the issue of studying fresh forms and methods of ideological work and conducting information work in a realistic and appealing manner and the issue of conducting motivation and agitation with visual aids as required by the Party's policy to maximize their effectiveness.

The lecturers explained the principled and theoretical issues, including the one of exploring and applying new forms and methods of ideological work while studying the Party's policies, the situation and the undertakings from an enterprising and positive standpoint, the one of thoroughly ensuring the politico-ideological characters, timeliness, visualization and culture in displaying political visual aids and preparing the information workers to be the ideological standard-bearers of our Party possessed of high political and professional qualifications and noble humanity.

The participants watched videos dealing with the successes, experience and lessons recently gained and drawn by information units at different levels and there was a question-and-answer session on the practical issues arising in the Party's ideological work.

While deeply studying the contents of the lectures during the workshop in organic correlation with the immediate practical requirements and the prospective requirements of the revolution, they focused their thinking and research on broadly acquiring the essence, exquisite principle and mature methodology of ideological work.

They actively exchanged and shared the good views and experience that would help acquire the innovative work style and manner of always aspiring after new things and development as a habit and ensure the purposeful and meticulous nature of ideological work under a good plan.

A letter of pledge to Comrade Kim Jong Un was adopted with fervent applause of the participants.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un Makes Important Speech at Closing Ceremony of Third Workshop for Officials in Information Sector of WPK

Pyongyang, September 22 (KCNA) -- Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, made an important speech at the closing ceremony of the Third Workshop for Officials in the Information Sector of the WPK on September 21.

He said in the speech:

Comrades,

I think that this workshop has been conducted well in keeping with the intended purpose of making it an important occasion for bringing about an innovation in the ideological work.

First, you must have acquired a full understanding of our Party's immutable ideology-first principle, the common aspiration to a new level of ideological work demanded by the times and its indispensability.

While attending the opening ceremony of the workshop and receiving the report on its daily course, I could feel the high degree of determination and passion of the participants who, with a unanimous awareness of the compelling mission of the times to transform the ideological work, have maintained self-consciousness and attitude to learn even one more thing.

Such attitude of yours has made me, General Secretary, quite pleased.

I could reaffirm that the information workers are surely higher in political awareness, more sensitive and more enthusiastic than the officials in other sectors.

I am convinced that as the ranks of information workers are so prepared ideologically and so exalted spiritually, I can expect more vigorous efforts and substantial changes in the strengthening of the ideological front, the ideological work, from now on.

You must not have learned all the contents of the practical information work in the few days of the workshop, and you will have to promote development while continuing to learn during your practical work. But I think this workshop must have been an important occasion for renewing your sacred revolutionary consciousness and sense of heavy responsibility that we should increase our ideological resources and consolidate the guarantee of succession to our cause.

This is important, I think.

What matters is how we apply this into practice from now on.

More important and valuable than countless oral determinations are propagation of truth that, even though once, raises and develops the consciousness of the masses and the high-pitched motivation work that inspires them with enthusiasm and courage.

Today, before the closing of the workshop, I would like to stress some more points for the information workers, the core frontline workers of our Party.

Comrades,

We need to be always aware of what we should be like as communists.

That is the Juche-oriented theory of ideology that should never change even though everything else in the world may change, and we are thoroughgoing advocates of the ideology-first principle.

Anything else cannot display the strength of the revolutionary ideology as much, nor can it overwhelm the strength.

We are now absolutely confident in our future because we have ideological assets that we have accumulated in the long course of the revolutionary struggle and that will display their inexhaustible might in the future, too.

The biggest asset of our Party is the great revolutionary ideology as well as the powerful forces for the information and motivation work that can turn the ideology into strength for transformation, and the ever-victorious leadership ability of our Party is just based on the strength of its peculiar information and motivation work.

We should prove this in the proud history of perfectly implementing what we aspire to and what we are going to achieve.

As we all experience, the struggle tasks we are faced with are not a representation of the goals we set in the past decades, but their striking development as well as another transformation in the dynamic course of our revolution.

As long as we have shaped the course and assumed the heavy tasks for ourselves, we must carry them out by our own efforts.

What are essential and urgent in the new struggle course are not any material foundations but the patriotic enthusiasm and extraordinary courage of all officials, Party members and other citizens and the strength of ideological motivation capable of amplifying the enthusiasm and courage for pioneering and creation.

Now is the time for all the people, ranging from leading officials to the citizens living in tips of this country, to stake their destiny and future on the development of the state, orient their wisdom and enthusiasm to the goals of a new stage, and overcome all challenges and obstacles with their indomitable fighting spirit and proactive creative initiative.

Being overpowered by objective factors and adapting to them is something that is alien to us, Korean revolutionaries. We should consistently maintain our unique principle of shaping our future and winning opportunities on the strength of the ideology-first principle whereby we synthesize all the people's great spiritual potentials and patriotic exertion in a concentrated way and bring them into full play.

We should harden our revolutionary stand to realize our ideals without fail by holding higher the banner of ideological oneness, which others cannot hold up even if they want to, namely, the philosophy based on the ideological theory that only our Party can advance in making the revolution with a great people.

Comrades,

After this workshop is over, the masses of Party members and other people will certainly focus their attention on our information workers' attitude and style of work, closely watching their future activities.

As a matter of fact, our people are now looking forward to new changes and innovations in the information and motivational work and cultural creation, which will inspire them in their struggle and enrich their life.

The tasks facing the Party's information sector are much heavier than they were in the past, and accordingly, the Party, the revolution and the times demand a great deal from its information workers.

The wider the area of our advance becomes and the faster we move forward, the greater challenges and difficulties we will inevitably face, Comrade Kim Jong Un said, stressing that responsible and sincere thinking and efforts are required to overcome one bottleneck after another.

He continued:

Our Party's information work should be improved remarkably and it should be more skilful, profound and effective than ever before.

This can be called a challenge for our information workers to overcome, or a big mountain for them to scale.

They should resolutely overcome this challenge with a renewed sense of their mission and through strenuous exertion, thus making sure that this workshop is recorded in our Party's history as a significant milestone in bringing about innovations and improvement in its overall ideological work.

We should, first of all, develop and enrich the contents of ideological education in keeping with the requirements and characteristics of the new era.

The might of ideological work is determined by its contents, and the development of its contents demands improvement of its forms, methods and means.

Sticking to the conventional contents and materials in disregard of the rapid and diversifying changes in the present era or repeating stereotyped logics and arguments cannot be called otherwise than an anachronistic error.

We keep setting ourselves greater ideals and goals in the economy, national defence, culture and all other realms of social life, which we translate into reality at a rapid pace, and our people are witnessing substantial changes in their living environment. Such being the case, the contents of our Party's ideological work should be composed and enriched in an innovative fashion.

By this I never mean that we should reject or reform the traditional contents of our ideological education, but that we should develop them in depth as required by the cause of the advancing revolution.

Therefore, achieving new innovations and a radical improvement in the information and education work should naturally begin with an in-depth development of the contents of the ideological education.

After referring to the importance of conducting the information and education work in a logical and realistic way, Comrade Kim Jong Un went on:

In ensuring that all the people cherish our truthful and advantageous ideology and policies as an element of their unshakeable faith, and in making our ideology and policies serve as a source of their great strength with which to brave difficulties and trials, no method is better than giving them a clear theoretical understanding of the justice of their cause and the inevitability of its victory.

If we adopt a schematic and cramming approach towards the information work, regardless of the principles of things and phenomena and the laws of life and cognition, the truth may be perverted or distorted, and this will finally evoke suspicion and denial.

It is beyond dispute that the ideological education should be not only logical but also down-to-earth.

Truth has an absolute power that defies description by any flowery language.

Comrade Kim Jong Un said that if there were ten or one hundred prescriptions for educating people in the past era, there should be one thousand or ten thousand prescriptions in the present era, and went on:

To base oneself on the concrete living conditions and environment of the people and their psychology is just to base oneself on the reality.

You, information workers, should prepare a lecture plan while always delving into people's inner thoughts and feelings and putting yourselves in their place, and give them an explanation in a way that you can build rapport with them through it and it can result in a substantial change in their cognition.

The forms and means of our information and education work should also steadily be updated in keeping with the development of the times.

The originality and influence of the ideological education work also depend largely on its forms and means, as well as its contents and methods.

As the saying goes, clothing makes the man. Even if it is a good material for information and education, it can neither draw the interest and attention of the masses nor have influence on their thoughts and feelings without the help of new forms and means.

People reject even the right words, if the method is trite. This is human psychology.

Comrade Kim Jong Un said it is a lesson of history that an ideology can either be a source of inexhaustible strength for victory and success or be a terrible toxin for frustration and failure, according to how much a party and a state that are building socialism attach importance to ideological work and how they conduct it, and continued:

If we do not pay attention to ideological education and arming of people with a spirit and to making constant innovations in this regard, while praising ourselves over the modern buildings rising up and the appearance of the country undergoing changes, it will be as good as building a castle on sand by depleting the foremost resources of the state.

The advance of the times is the flow of people's struggle and life and, therefore, in order to apply the character of the times to the ideological work, we should make an in-depth study of the people of today and explore and apply new forms, means and methods to suit them.

The information sector should concentrate the thinking and study on achieving greater effectiveness by finding out and grasping the forms and means that can attract the people, even if the contents of ideological education are on the same theme, and make the creation of new things a habitual trait.

It should not confine itself to conducting information and education work, but constantly improve it by making a scientific and quantitative analysis of how much it is effective and which means, forms and methods are most effective.

And efforts should be directed to the use of modern IT and other technical means in the direction of increasing the promptness and effectiveness of the information and education work and completely stopping the spread of reactionary ideology and culture.

Comrades,

The demand for innovation of ideological work boils down to the demand for the increasing of the awareness and capabilities of the officials in the information sector of the Party.

In order for our ideological work to raise the revolutionary spirit and revolutionary fighting morale of the masses and lead the times, information workers should be the first to have an extraordinary sense of responsibility and devotion.

As the information and education work is the work with the psychology of the people in all walks of life, even a lecture or motivation for increased production requires much effort.

The character of information workers, who can find the worth of making the revolution in doing difficult work without regarding it as trouble, is formed and consolidated just by an unusual sense of responsibility.

The mind of officials in the information sector should always be dominated by a sense of responsibility that if they fall back, their units, regions and sectors will collapse, and filled with the thinking and search as to how to improve the information work.

It is the responsible attitude of Party information workers to be able to feel the psychology of the masses even through a single word by them or a look of their eyes and promptly respond to the negative ideological elements with a keen sense as sharp as the blade of a knife touching the flesh.

They, whose life and blood can be said to be ideology, should fulfil their duty not only at work but also in their daily life. If they, who transmit the Party's ideas and policies, say this in front of the masses and act in a different way behind the scenes, it will foster distrust among the masses and cause the consequence of destroying the ideological position by themselves.

Officials in the information sector should not compromise with negative practices that are detrimental to the Party's ideology and the socialist principles, even if they may be struck by lightning or threatened with a dagger on their neck. In particular, they should never be involved in abuse of power, bureaucracy and accumulation of wealth by illicit means.

To decisively improve their level and abilities is a pressing task which has a direct bearing on the substantial innovation of the ideological work.

Recently it has been continually stressed that officials throughout the Party should acquire good writing and oratorical abilities, and these abilities are all the more vital and essential for information workers.

Party information workers should be fully versed in the Party's ideas and policies, ever prepared to influence the masses with the Party's intentions at any place and at any time and to give proper guidance and assistance to the work of primary information workers, and they should make steady efforts to improve their qualifications.

They should be all-round officials who are qualified politically and ideologically, well-versed in economic affairs and modern science and technology, and rich in cultural attainments and emotions.

Today, every field and unit needs talented personnel more than ever before, but the information sector demands that every worker be a talented person.

The information sector should take revolutionary measures to decisively improve the level of political and theoretical qualifications and practical abilities of its workers, and I think that it is natural that the endeavour to this end should begin in the Information and Publicity Department of the Party Central Committee.

It is natural that the department should plan and vigorously lead the innovative, creative and offensive ideological campaign required by the present era.

By forcefully pushing ahead with an all-out ideological campaign, it must restore its original features and resilience as the department which specializes in leading the Party's ideological work as a whole and conducting information and motivation work.

It should work out a scrupulous plan for innovating the Party-wide ideological work, adopt scientific, realistic and novel tactical measures, and make it its daily routine to strictly review information and motivation work on the basis of its efficiency and take relevant measures.

A change in the level and work style of its officials will bring about an improvement in the professional qualifications and work style of the information workers of the entire Party.

Comrade Kim Jong Un stressed the need to make every element of the ideological work an ideological and spiritual sustenance indispensable to everyone in the new era of transformation and a driving force of their genuine life and struggle, calling on all the participants to make their work run through with the principles, tactics and methods they acquired in the workshop, steadily learn and consolidate them through practice and constantly explore new keys to innovating the ideological work, thereby further enriching the wealth of the ideological work of the Party.

DPRK Missile Administration Tests New, Important Combat Weapon System

Pyongyang, September 22 (KCNA) -- The Missile Administration of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea successfully tested a new-type weapon, which is of great significance in the rapid technological development of weapon systems, on September 20.

The test did not have any adverse impact on the security of neighboring countries.

It is an extension of the regular activities of the DPRK Missile Administration and its defence science research institutes aimed at implementing the national defence policy.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, oversaw the test.

Saying that the test was undoubtedly a striking demonstration of ultra-modern defence technology and clear progress in the modernization of the armed forces, he stressed that it represents the irresistible might.

To acquire such a technology is of weighty significance in the state's readiness for war and the future development of the armed forces, he said, adding that the enemy will know better what such progress means without any explanation in the aspect of military technology. He affirmed that such reality would give the enemy an incurable headache and a very cruel and unavoidable blow.

Today's success is the priceless fruit brought by a special think tank of the sci-tech forces involved in development of the important weapon system for a specific purpose and their sincere efforts, he said, expressing thanks to the Missile Administration and its defence science institutes and working groups. -0-

 The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and  the  Korean Friendship Association of the UK  KFA  UK )  , issued a joint statement in support of the press statement of comrade Kim Yo Jong department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea , which was titled   "The prejudiced viewpoint and double standards of the IAEA are the main factor that incurred the collapse of the international nuclear non-proliferation system"  that was issued on the 19th of September;

On the 17th of September , the so-called International Atomic Energy Agency at is 70th General Conference passed an anti-DPRK resolution which called into question the legitimate self-defensive nuclear activities of the DPRK. Comrade Kim Yo Jong denounces this as "Such meaningless and inefficient "resolution", which the IAEA is cooking up every year at the instigation of the U.S. and the West, is not something new for us and has no effect on the DPRK's position as a nuclear weapons state"

It seems strange that the IAEA is passing resolutions about the DPRK' s nuclear activities because the DPRK is no way bound to the IAEA or beholden to it because it left the IAEA 32 years ago . The DPRK also finally withdrew from the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty 23 years ago . So it is nonsensical for the IAEA to make any comment on the DPRK's nuclear activities . The DPRK will not recognise any 'resolution ' cooked up by the IAEA 

Comrade Kim Yo Jong draws attention to the double standards of the IAEA which is only taking issue with the DPRK and not other states. For example the IAEA has never made an issue of the plan for an introduction of a nuclear submarine by south Korea . We could also add that the IAEA has never investigated Israel ! Thus the IAEA has been a reduced to  " a Western power organization"

The IAEA is also silent about Japan's accumulation of weapons grade nuclear materials and the mumblings of the ROK puppet about the acquisition of nuclear weapons.

In reality the IAEA has become "  the U.S. atomic energy organization, and it is no exaggeration to say that the international nuclear non-proliferation system has degenerated into the U.S.-led nuclear proliferation system" as comrade Kim Yo Jong states .

The IAEA is calling for the unilateral, one -sided disarmament of the DPRK but at the same time turning a blind eye to the nuclear proliferation of the US , Japan and ROK . It is basically trying to deny the DPRK's right to existence .

Comrade Kim Yo Jong firmly declares that "We will not in any case mortgage our sovereignty and security rights to the "tolerance" of the U.S. and the West"  . We applaud this . Bravo to People's Korea !

We strongly denounce the IAEA for acting as a puppet of the US in its dirty schemes to stifle Korean style socialism ! We support the statement of comrade Kim Yo Jong .

Press Statement of DPRK Foreign Ministry Spokesperson

Pyongyang, September 21 (KCNA) -- A spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea released the following press statement on Monday:

The foolish behavior of the U.S. and the West is again sparking off criticism and ridicule of the world as they have openly ignored the principles of international law with respect for sovereignty and non-interference as the core and sought to save the structure of sanctions and pressure on the DPRK from its total bankruptcy.

Recently, the U.S.-led "multilateral sanctions monitoring team (MSMT)" cooked up and announced a "report" pulling up the beneficial and routine economic cooperative relations between the DPRK and other countries and thus vividly revealed its true colors as a plot-breeding organization which distorts normal as abnormal and brands legal as illegal.

The MSMT is a ghost group lacking any legality in the justification and purpose of existence. Its illegal act committed under the signboard of implementing the UN "resolution" is just a violation of the UN Charter and international law and a mockery of the international community.

The U.S.-led isolated minority group has never been given the mission and authority to act on behalf of the UN, and "resolutions" against the DPRK cooked up by the UN Security Council wantonly violating the sovereignty and the rights to development of a sovereign state have never been recognized by the DPRK.

What the MSMT, made up of pseudo experts addicted to the compilation of sanctions, has done is nothing but to devise all sorts of conspiracy theories under the U.S. command, and there is no room for discussion about the reliability and objectivity of such documents they have produced.

The DPRK's relations of exchange and cooperation with other countries cannot be subject to interference or investigation of a third party in any case as they are the exercise of legitimate rights under bilateral and multilateral treaties and agreements.

The UN Charter stipulates as one of the main purposes of the UN to develop friendly relations among nations on the principle of equality and self-determination, and the declaration on the principles of international law on friendship and cooperation among nations under the UN Charter, adopted as Resolution 2625 of the UN General Assembly, specifies that any country or group of states has no right to interfere in the internal affairs and external affairs of other countries.

What should be questioned and rejected in the present international relations are bad behaviors of the U.S. and the West openly conducted worldwide, in contravention of the purpose and principle of the UN Charter which disallows the use of and threat by force against the political independence and territorial integrity of any country.

No matter how zealously the U.S. and the West resort to chop logic, it is unchangeable that the MSMT is no more than a political tool for ensuring their specific interests and pressurizing sovereign states.

No matter what new document of sanctions the hostile forces may cook up and no matter what semblance of "legality" they may give to their illegal conspiratorial organization, they cannot break the steadfast will of the DPRK to thoroughly defend its core interests and grow stronger nor check its constant development trend.

The DPRK, as in the present so in the future, too, will never tolerate the malicious attempt of the hostile forces to bind and obstruct the state development and normal and reciprocal cooperative relations of independent countries but will strongly counter it and thoroughly defend the dignity and development interests of the state. -0-

Press Statement of Kim Yo Jong, Department Director of C.C., WPK

Pyongyang, September 19 (KCNA) -- Kim Yo Jong, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, issued the following press statement "The prejudiced viewpoint and double standards of the IAEA are the main factor that incurred the collapse of the international nuclear non-proliferation system" on Sept. 19:

With the 70th Session of the IAEA General Conference held in Vienna of Austria as an occasion, the IAEA's chronic prejudice and double-standard behavior was revealed again.

On September 17, the IAEA forcibly adopted an anti-DPRK "resolution" to call into question our state's self-defensive and legitimate nuclear activities, disregarding the grave situation in which the DPRK's security environment is exposed to constant nuclear threat of outside forces.

Such meaningless and inefficient "resolution", which the IAEA is cooking up every year at the instigation of the U.S. and the West, is not something new for us and has no effect on the DPRK's position as a nuclear weapons state.

The nuclear activities of the DPRK, a nuclear weapons state outside the NPT which withdrew from the IAEA through legal routes decades ago, are not object of jurisdiction of the IAEA and, the agency has no authority or qualifications to interfere in them.

Therefore, we never recognize any anti-DPRK "resolution" cooked up in the arena of the IAEA.

On the other hand, the IAEA has consistently kept silence, failing to say a right word about the undisguised nuclear proliferation act of the U.S., a depository of the NPT, and the grave plan for the introduction of nuclear submarine by the ROK, a non-nuclear state.

This is another typical example clearly showing the extreme two-faced nature and prejudice of the agency.

As a result, the IAEA vividly revealed its true nature as a Western power organization, unfortunately and completely being deprived of its representative character and impartiality as a UN specialized organization and representing only the interests of the U.S. and its allies.

The double standard of the IAEA is not confined to the Korean peninsula but is being witnessed in Europe, Oceania, the Middle East and other parts of the world.

The fact that the U.S. deployed nuclear weapons in Europe and shared them with NATO member states, while wantonly violating the non-proliferation obligation of NPT stipulating that nuclear weapons and their management should not be handed over directly and indirectly to anyone, the fact that it actively dragged the ROK and Japan in its plan for nuclear weapons use and its implementation under the pretext of "offer of extended deterrence" and the fact that it is planning to provide nuclear submarine technology for the ROK - all those facts do not become the subject of discussion and concern of the agency in any case.

Moreover, the agency is disregarding Japan's unusual excess accumulation of weapons-grade nuclear materials under the patronage of the U.S. despite the protest of the international community.

The two-faced nature of the agency has led to the creation of a new "nuclear non-proliferation standard" whereby the nuclear activities of a relevant country are regulated as "legitimate" or "illegal" according to whether the nuclear issue is of the West or not. This is the present reality of the nuclear non-proliferation system led by the U.S. and the West.

In fact, the IAEA has certainly been reduced to the U.S. atomic energy organization, and it is no exaggeration to say that the international nuclear non-proliferation system has degenerated into the U.S.-led nuclear proliferation system.

The injustice, prejudice and double standards of the IAEA are the main factors eroding the nuclear non-proliferation system on a global scale, and the U.S. open nuclear proliferation behavior being committed in parallel with this is a serious threat disturbing international peace and security and increasing the danger of outbreak of a nuclear war.

The main mission of the IAEA is to provide all member states with the right to peaceful use of nuclear power and to block the military use of nuclear technology, and it is by no means to connive at and foster undisguised nuclear proliferation.

In my personal view, the IAEA might save its disgraced face even a bit if it takes courage to say a single right word about who is the chieftain of undermining the nuclear non-proliferation system.

The further the IAEA interferes in the sovereignty and internal affairs of the DPRK, a non-member state, the worse its reputation and fame will be damaged, and it should judge by itself who will benefit from it.

Conniving at the nuclear threat and proliferation of the U.S. and other hostile forces and asking the DPRK to abandon its nuclear weapons are just like telling us to give up our existence and right to live.

We will not in any case mortgage our sovereignty and security rights to the "tolerance" of the U.S. and the West.

The present grave geopolitical situation, in which the international nuclear order is at the brink of complete collapse due to the radical nuclear arms buildup and undisguised nuclear proliferation of the U.S. and to the double-dealing behavior and lack of principle of the IAEA, requires the DPRK to make a more responsible option.

It is the most important matter for the national security to ensure that the credibility of the nuclear force is not questioned in any case for the DPRK which is constantly exposed to the nuclear threat of the hostile forces. -0-

 The British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and  the  Korean Friendship Association of the UK  KFA  UK )  , issued a joint statement in support of the press statement of the spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry that was released on Friday 18th of September;

On the 17th of September the 70th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency(IAEA) passed a resolution against the DPRK citing the "Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty " and calling for the so-called "complete ,irreversible and verifiable" unilateral nuclear disarmament of the DPRK .

However the "resolution " is nonsensical because the DPRK is not bound by the NPT and not a member  of the IAEA . The DPRK declared its intention to withdraw from the NPT in 1993 and totally withdrew from the NPT in 2003. Similarly the DPRK withdraw from the IAEA in 1994 , over 30 years ago. So it meaningless for the NPT and IAEA to be invoked against the DPRK.

The DPRK Foreign Ministry spokesperson declares that "The DPRK's position as a nuclear weapons state does not need the recognition of the U.S., the West and the IAEA. It is guaranteed by the actual nuclear deterrent and irreversibly and permanently fixed by the supreme law of the state

Pitifully, the "resolution" cooked up by the U.S. and the West has no effect on the DPRK's position as a nuclear weapons state"

It is a hard fact that the DPRK became a nuclear state in October 2006 and the DPRK's nuclear status is in now in the Constitution of the country .It is permanent and irreversible . The IAEA are just wasting their time by passing such silly resolutions.

The DPRK will be unfazed by any attempts by the US-led hostile forces to "denuclearise " it but will instead continue to upgrade its nuclear deterrent .

The IAEA should not try to block the DPRK's exercise of its independent rights .

Comrade Kim Yo Jong in her statement highlights the fact that the US have been continuing with war exercises against the the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK ) including the Pacific Vanguard exercises in the waters around Guam .The exercise included not only the US , Japan and the puppet ROK but also Australia and New Zealand both satellite states of US imperialism . This is an important fact that needs to be broadcasted as widely as possible to make people aware of it .

This year there has been an unprecedented number of US led multi-national war exercises around the Korean peninsula such as Cobra Gold, the joint air drill Pitch Black, the largest-ever joint naval drill RIMPAC involving a number of NATO member states in Europe and the joint military drill Super Garuda Shield which was staged in parallel with Pacific Vanguard.

All this goes to show that the US is sharpening the sword of aggression against the DPRK , hoping to drag other countries into its plans , and is gearing up for a confrontation with different countries in the region .

Comrade Kim Yo Jong stresses that "The regular U.S.-led war rehearsal is the main source of ever-worsening situation in the Korean peninsula and the region."

However the increasing military pressure of the US cannot achieve its aims because the DPRK will strengthen its deterrent power and increase its capabilities  . Comrade Kim Yo Jong points out that "The present situation, in which new records are set in terms of practical action hostile toward the DPRK, stresses the need to break records in our responsive action, proportional or more offensive in its nature"

It is a good thing that the DPRK is committed to increasing its defensive power . 

We salute the just stand of the DPRK to defend itself against the ever-increasing US threat and the threat from the satellite states of US imperialism.

Pyongyang, September 19 (KCNA) -- A spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea released the following press statement on Friday:

The hostile forces cooked up and made public a "resolution" against the DPRK at the 70th Session of the IAEA General Conference on Sept. 17.

In the "resolution", they picked quarrel with the DPRK's legitimate and self-defensive exercise of sovereignty, arguing that the DPRK cannot have nuclear weapons under the NPT, they express serious concern over the DPRK's sustainable nuclear activities, and all nuclear weapons and nuclear programs should be abandoned in a complete, verifiable and irreversible way.

The DPRK has not been a member of the NPT and the IAEA from long ago and, therefore, it is illegal and the height of impudence to talk about the position of our state and its efforts to bolster up the defence capabilities.

The DPRK's position as a nuclear weapons state does not need the recognition of the U.S., the West and the IAEA. It is guaranteed by the actual nuclear deterrent and irreversibly and permanently fixed by the supreme law of the state.

Pitifully, the "resolution" cooked up by the U.S. and the West has no effect on the DPRK's position as a nuclear weapons state.

No matter how desperately the hostile forces may try to deny our constitutional position in and around the IAEA, the position of the DPRK as a nuclear weapons state, which is permanently and absolutely settled by the law, is irreversible.

It is the DPRK's invariable line of national defence to more offensively implement its strategic and long-term plans for building reliable self-defensive deterrent to cope with the ever-worsening international security environment.

As a responsible nuclear weapons state, the DPRK will as ever firmly defend the sovereignty and fundamental interests of the state and thoroughly guarantee peace and security in the region and the rest of the world by deterring all challenges and threats from outside by overwhelming force. -0

Third Workshop for Officials in Information Sector of WPK Opens

Pyongyang, September 19 (KCNA) -- The Third Workshop for Officials in the Information Sector of the Workers' Party of Korea was opened in Pyongyang, the capital city of the DPRK, on September 18 amid the traditional work being intensified in every sector to grasp again and rearm with the Party's ideas, theories and strategic policies in an overall and profound way to thoroughly guarantee the successful implementation of the revolutionary programme set forth at the historic Ninth WPK Congress.

The WPK Central Committee organized the workshop for the third time in the WPK's history to amplify the absolute superiority and mental and moral advantages peculiar to the DPRK emerging ever-victorious by dint of the ideology-first principle and to more thoroughly prepare the information workers of the whole Party into competent political activists and men of ability with matured qualifications and traits corresponding to the requirements of the new phase of development.

Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, guided the workshop.

Comrade Kim Jong Un made an important speech on the occasion of the opening of the Third Workshop for Officials in the Information Sector of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The Ninth Congress of the WPK indicated the direction of work covering an extensive sphere and the goals to be attained in view of the development phase of the Korean revolution and the requirements of the times and now our struggle is entering a new phase in its sphere and all activities, Comrade Kim Jong Un said, adding that we are waging a new struggle as we have made progress in all fields and therefore, a higher stage of struggle is needed.

The course of development, which we have successfully pioneered so far, was made entirely thanks to the ideological resources our Party has long accumulated, the indomitable mental strength and courage of our people, not by relying on any conditions or circumstances.

This is stark reality recognized not only by ourselves but by the world.

In order to ensure the successful accomplishment of the gigantic and huge tasks set forth at the Ninth Congress of our Party in the future, too, it should be premised on and guaranteed by the inexhaustible ideological and mental strength of our Party and people.

In reality, the tasks facing us and the difficulties arising at the same time highlight with each passing moment that the key to solving all these problems is only in the strength of ideology and that the genuine prosperity and civilization, which we aspire to and aim at, lie in maximizing the might of the ideological work.

We are now particularly emphasizing the need to start all the undertakings from ideological work in order to further develop the extraordinary potential peculiar to the Korean revolution, which has advanced and triumphed by dint of ideology, to the level of the new era.

Comrade Kim Jong Un appreciated that the information sector is now directing more efforts to intensifying the ideological offensive than ever before and, accordingly, the social atmosphere has been revved up and mass enthusiasm has been greatly uplifted.

However, we should be cautious of self-praise and self-satisfaction, encourage self-reproach and self-reflection and always maintain the revolutionary and responsible work style of struggling in mental agony and pains and working in a foresighted way and on a long-term basis, he said, reviewing and analyzing the deviations latent in the information work.

Noting that the fundamental improvement in the ideological work and the qualitative strengthening of the ideological position are urgently needed at present when many changes have taken place in the subjective and objective environments and the sphere of socialist construction is being expanded incomparably, he said that it is important to consolidate the Party information force in every way so as to meet the requirement of our Party and the developing revolution at present and further intensify the ideological work, the most important in the Party work.

It seems that the trend of change in objective environment is now faster than the transformation of means and methods of ideological work, he said, adding it is a principled requirement consistently maintained by our Party that the positive change in our Party's ideological work with the excellent history and tradition should naturally surpass the trend of change of the times and that ideological work should be conducted in an offensive manner ahead of reality.

Comrade Kim Jong Un in his speech particularly stressed that the issue that should be always prioritized is to lead the social development with ideological work.

He said: We have the great ideology and theories that can not be found in any other parts of the world, excellent tradition of ideological work and well-regulated ideological work system and order.

If all comrades present here powerfully guide the qualitative improvement in ideological work as required by the times and the developing revolution, it will be possible to reliably ensure the steady advance of our revolutionary cause, to say nothing of the implementation of the decisions of the Ninth Congress of the WPK.

Expecting all the participants to study in depth the contents of the workshop in an active and sincere manner in combination with the immediate and practical requirements and long-term demand of the revolution, Comrade Kim Jong Un stressed as follows:

Each era of the revolution and struggle demands the might of ideology peculiar and suited to it.

Today's ideological campaign should be an innovative, creative and offensive one leading the times.

It is easy to follow the old ones, but this is very dangerous. Whereas, it is difficult to create new ones suitable for today, but this is very necessary.

We must not forget that many well-known and unknown information workers active in the annals of our revolution had devoted much wisdom and efforts to fulfilling their revolutionary duty assigned by their eras and, consequently, the precious ideological wealth of our revolution and the tradition of ideological work were provided.

When you actively explore and apply new, novel and effective means and methods of information work that meet the requirements of the Party, the times and the reality, our ideological position will become stronger with the rapid advance of our times.

Therefore, all the participants should have a correct understanding of the importance and significance of the current workshop and devote themselves to acquiring the essence, the knack and matured methodology of ideological work in line with the intention of the Party Central Committee, thus making the period of the workshop a useful and meaningful occasion.

Expressing once again the stand of the Party Central Committee that attaches greater importance and expectation in the current workshop, which will serve as a milestone of epochal turn to register another clear page in our Party's history of ideological work, than any other sectional conference or workshop, Comrade Kim Jong Un declared the opening of the Third Workshop for Officials in the Information Sector of the Workers' Party of Korea.

The reporter said that the past two years since the Second Workshop for Officials in the Information Sector of the WPK were a sacred revolutionary journey, in which the political and ideological position of the DPRK was further consolidated despite manifold trials and adversity under the outstanding guidance of Comrade General Secretary Kim Jong Un and the leadership and invincibility of our Party dynamically ushering in a new era of comprehensive development by dint of ideology were fully demonstrated.

He noted that the General Secretary attached greater importance to the Party ideological work as socialist construction expanded day by day and the advance speed of the revolution accelerated and indicated the important guidelines for increasing the might of ideology and the effectiveness of ideological work to the maximum.

While energetically guiding the ideological work of the Party to make it a fresh and effective political work process suited to the requirements of the times and the developing revolution and our national status and prestige with clear purpose and aim, the General Secretary clarified ideas and theories which serve as precious treasures for further enriching the treasure house of ideological building of the WPK for their profundity and scientific accuracy, the reporter stressed.

He was accompanied by Vice-Chairman Pak Jong Chon and member Kim Jong Sik of the Central Military Commission of the WPK, Yu Chang Son, director of the Artillery Bureau of the General Staff of the Korean People's Army, and Ri Pyong Chol, Ri Il Hwan, Kim Yo Jong, Kim Jae Ryong and O Yong Jae, who are cadres of the Central Committee of the WPK, and leading officials in the sector of defence science research.

In hearty response to the decisions of the Ninth Congress of the WPK, the major munitions industrial enterprises turned out in attaining the new year's production goals. They are steadily increasing the revolutionary enthusiasm and making upsurge in production, recording high results every day.

Comrade Kim Jong Un warmly encouraged the working class who are reliably stepping up the radical growth of our munitions industry and its more independent and advanced development through their energetic and devoted labour struggle, always full of revolutionary zeal.

He expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the major munitions industrial enterprises are fulfilling their plans for the production of combat equipment on the most important indices of urgent military significance in a responsible manner without fail and, as a result, the huge plans issued by the Party Central Military Commission are being successfully carried out one by one.

He appreciated the major munitions industrial enterprises for carrying on without an inch of deflection the projects for expanding the production capacity assigned by the Party to meet the requirements of the all-round plan for reorganizing and modernizing the artillery combat force of our army.

Stressing that the fulfillment of this year's production plans is most essential in attaining the new Five-Year Plan aimed at fresh progress and leap forward in the building of a powerful army and the defence industry, he said that the major munitions industrial enterprises should continue to consolidate the current trend in production and dynamically and simultaneously conduct a series of technical infrastructure reinforcement for promoting the long-term munitions production plans.

He said that the building of a powerful artillery force is the core for deterring and fighting war, adding that our artillery should have the most concentrated and destructive, massive and versatile offensive capability and responsibly perform the two missions of deterring and fighting war. He stressed that the achievements made by the DPRK in all fields to modernize all components of the national defence capability including artillery are meaning a significant change in the composition and means of our armed forces and their plan for countering a war. Stating that the enemy's military systems would be gradually damaged and useless by action of the irresistible might which we have already possessed or will soon possess, he said that the munitions industrial enterprises at all levels under the Second Economy Commission should play a bigger role in carrying out the strategic policy of the Party on building the most powerful army and the country's munitions industry should be further expanded and strengthened.

He said that the production success at the major munitions industrial enterprises is not merely significant for increased production but it is of weighty significance as it is undoubtedly a product of the will and efforts of the working class to defend our sovereign security, and this is a great contribution for the state.

Stressing that major munitions industrial enterprises have a very pivotal role to play in steadily augmenting the country's war deterrent and war-fighting capability, he encouraged them to vigorously continue their patriotic production drive for steadily equipping our army with the most powerful and overwhelming strategic strength.

He clarified important policy-oriented tasks for the enterprises' production and management, including the issue of steadily accelerating the expansion of production capacity and the modernization of technical processes, raising the level of artificial intelligence of offensive and defensive combat weapon systems and putting the armor and automation of artillery weapons on a higher stage and the issue of bettering the conditions and environment for production.

Comrade Kim Jong Un expressed expectation and belief that all the officials, technicians and workers serving at important core factories would continue to fully display their inherent creation spirit and fighting spirit and thus powerfully propel the radical strengthening of our armed forces. -0
