Rejected Draconian Labor Law

Recently,  the feud between the various political forces on the Park regimes 5-point bill for labor reform is being intensified and the anti-government struggle of south Korean workers is on a high tide against the anti-popular misgovernment of the conservatives.
The bill proposed by the present chief executive is an evil law to increase the part-time workers. If the bill passes through the parliament, business groups easily fire the workers and pay the minimum wages.
For instance, the Labor Standard Act provides that the enterprisers are able to reduce the wages of the workers on some unreasonable pretexts or other. And the other doubles the part-time workers period of employment from 2 years to 4 years so that they are more difficult to be full-time workers.
Also, the bill makes the returnees who worked abroad at low wages as the part-time workers.
In a word, the bill is to sacrifice the workers rights to live for the interests of the business tycoons.
The various trade unions such as the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions and the Federation of Korean Trade Unions and civic organizations of south Korea are carrying on a vigorous struggle against the conservatives retrogressive revision of the labor law.
Since January 25, the KCTU has gone on a general strike to smash the conservatives scheme. On February 2, the KCTU and the FKTU had a joint press conference to denounce the authorities two principles for the bill.
They would go on a struggle jointly to crush the plot to pass the bill, they noted.
With the general election is near at hand, the south Korean workers and people harden their determination to give a stern punishment to the authorities against the peoples intention and demand.

Stop the planned deployment of THAAD

The south Korean people of various circles strongly protest against the planned deployment of THAAD, because if the THAAD is deployed in south Korea the danger of a nuclear war on the Korean Peninsula is looming.
Civic organizations in Daegu and north Gyengsang Province called a press conference on Feb. 12 to criticize the planned deployment of THAAD is part of realizing the US Asia hegemony.
The south Korean authorities’ move to deploy THAAD is illogical, they asserted.
The solidarity held a meeting outside the U.S. embassy and staged a demonstration on Feb. 13 demanding a stop to the THAAD deployment and joint military drills against the DPRK, conclusion of the DPRK-U.S. peace treaty and resignation of Park Geun-hye.
The south Korean people should drive out the Park regime, a marionette of the US, in order to become masters of this land, they asserted.
They stressed that they should open up the path to independent reunification in order to remove the vicious circle of driving the people’s life to death.
The Bar Association for Democratic Society of south Korea staged a demonstration in protest against the south Korean authorities' reckless moves to introduce THAAD from the U.S in Seoul on Feb. 16.
Saying that the planned deployment of THAAD would wreck peace, the current situation endangers the peace and security in the Korean Peninsula and Northeast Asia, they charged.
The association declared it would continue the struggle till the regime stops the planned deployment of THAAD.
The Citizens Measure Committee Opposing the Deployment of THAAD in Wonju comprising the public organizations in Wonju, Gangwon Province of south Korea held a press conference at the city office on Feb. 17 to protest against the south Korean authorities’ move to deploy THAAD.
The speakers disclosed that Wonju, Pyeongtaek in Gyonggi Province and Daegu are under discussion as the sites for the deployment of THAAD.
They said no to the deployment of THAAD in Wonju and any other parts of south Korea.
The south Korean authorities’ move to deploy THAAD is an intolerable treacherous act to plunge the Korean nation’s destiny into a disaster of nuclear war in tandem with Washington’s global supremacy.

Brutal Violence

The south Korean authorities are terrified out of their senses by an inexhaustible might of north Korea thriving thanks to a powerful nuclear deterrence and rock-solid single-hearted unity. They are at bay by the south Korean people’s action against the south Korean government’s misrule. They have strained every nerve to tide over its worst ruling crisis by creating gruesome situation.
In recent, the south Korean supreme court sentenced a professor at Ulsan University to a jail term on charge of violation of the notorious National Security Law that he distributed President Kim Il Sung’s reminiscences “With the Century” to his students.
It has been a long time that the south Korean people read the President’s reminiscences with avidity, highly eulogizing the reminiscences is a must-read.
The south Korean prosecution authorities, some days ago, sentenced a resident and writer to a prison term on charges that they had distributed poems and publication praising north Korea.
They imposed a heavy penalty upon the ex-executive chairman of the South Headquarters of the Pan-National Alliance for Korea's Reunification (Pomminryon) on charge of the National Security Law that he extolled north Korea at a meeting.
They indicted the leading members of the Korea Solidarity for Independent Reunification and Democracy and go on the rampage to suppress them.
The south Korean Prosecution Service said that the Korea Solidarity has conducted campaign supporting north Korea’s ideology and system since its formation in 2011 and criminalizes its street demo in protest against the US troop’s experiment of anthrax germ.
The more south Korean ruling quarters’ fascist suppression become violent, the more south Korean people’s action is more intense.

KCNA Commentary Denounces U.S. Worst Double Standards

Pyongyang, February 29 (KCNA) -- The U.S. is behaving mischievously over the DPRK's satellite launch for peaceful purposes.
It is crying out for international pressure and "sanctions," terming the DPRK's satellite launch violation of "resolutions" of the UN Security Council.
This is a wanton infringement on the DPRK's sovereignty and grave challenge to it.
The DPRK's satellite launch for peaceful purposes is inviolable as it is a legitimate exercise of an independent right of a sovereign state recognized by international law which is above the UNSC resolutions.
The racket kicked up by the U.S. over the DPRK's satellite launch is a vivid manifestation of the White House's extreme hostile policy towards the latter.
Washington claims that all satellites launched by the U.S. are legal while every satellite launched by the DPRK is illegal. Such claim is the height of the American-style double standards.
An article posted by Stefan Landman on the website of the Canadian Institute for World Studies "Double standards of the West towards north Korea" said the UNSC resolution banning Pyongyang's use of ballistic missile technology is a wrong one, adding that this resolution is not applied to any country, to say nothing of the western world, and this is the height of double standards.
A professor and doctor of the Socio-economic Faculty of the University of Vienna sneered by saying that the UNSC is discussing sanctions over the north Korea's satellite launch but the satellite launch is a legitimate right of a sovereign state and if it finds fault with north Korea's satellite launch, it has to adopt a new "resolution" some time banning the sale of kitchen knives to its commercial network for fear of killing people, he added.
A colonel of the Spanish Ministry of Defence noted that it is the double standards to insist on slapping sanctions against north Korea as satellites are launched by all the countries capable of doing so, adding that it is also double standards that nuclear capable India and Pakistan conduct regular ICBM launches but no one takes issue with them, he said.
A researcher of an American nonproliferation center said that he can say with confidence the rocket launched by north Korea was the satellite launch as it was designed as a mechanism for launching rockets into the space. There should be a considerable change in the design if the satellite launch is to be described as ICBM, he held.
As the international public comments, the DPRK's satellite launch can never pose a threat to other countries as it is clear space development activity for peaceful purposes.
The U.S. is working hard to prevent the DPRK's satellite launches, absurdly claiming that they "threaten" someone. If this is allowed, the DPRK is barred from launching satellites for good. It is unpardonable double standards for the U.S. to assert that the DPRK is only not allowed to launch satellites, while launching different types of satellites including spy satellites at any place and times in a bid to militarize outer space in contravention of requirements of the international community. The U.S. naturally should stop taking issue with the DPRK's space development activities and halt the above-said moves as they are a grave threat to world peace and security, to begin with.
It should not make an excessive reaction to the DPRK's satellite launch for peaceful purposes, prompted by the conception of confrontation, but view it from a fair stand.
It is a law-governed requirement of the age of ultra-modern science and technology and world trend to launch and operate working satellites necessary for economic development and prosperity of the country.
The DPRK's position as a satellite manufacturer and launcher will never change because of the U.S. denial and the former's space development is not something to be given up because of someone's "sanctions".
The DPRK will as ever make greater successes in the field of space development so as to protect the self-respect and dignity of the nation.
It is nothing but a pipe dream for the U.S. to expect the DPRK to collapse due to "sanctions." This is as foolish as waiting the missions of the sun and stars to come to an end.
If the U.S. persists in its desperate attempt to deprive the DPRK of its independent and legitimate rights, obsessed with its ill-intended inveterate repugnancy toward the latter, it will be left with no option but to take inevitable counter-measures to cope with it. -0-

Kim Jong Un Sends Letter of Thanks to Officials, Working Youth and Students

  Pyongyang, February 28 (KCNA) --
Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army, on Saturday sent a letter of thanks to the officials, working youth and students who volunteered for national defence with ardent patriotism and loyalty and the will to annihilate the enemy.     The full text of the letter of thanks reads:
Within only two days after the Supreme Headquarters of the Korean People's Army published on February 23 a crucial statement on punishing without mercy the U.S. imperialists and their south Korean puppet clique who are hell-bent on extremely reckless war moves, officials, working youth and students of universities, colleges and senior middle schools numbering 1.5 million across the country volunteered to join or rejoin the Korean People's Army.
I highly appreciate these dependable people for having volunteered for the defence of the country and the revolution burning their hearts with infinite loyalty to the revolution, ardent patriotism and the will to annihilate the enemy, and extend heartfelt thanks and militant greetings to them in the name of the First Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, First Chairman of the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and Supreme Commander of the Korean People's Army.
The courageous spirit of our people, including youth and students, who gave vent to their pent-up fury on the enemy, who are running amuck to provoke our prestigious state impudently, and rose up in the sacred struggle for inflicting merciless divine punishment on them, is a demonstration of the lofty spiritual world of the great Korean people who firmly trust the Party Central Committee only and absolutely follow it, a revolutionary people who are ready to defy a bloody war, and even death, and smash the enemy if it is for the defence of justice.
As soon as they heard the crucial statement of the Supreme Headquarters of the Korean People's Army, our officials, working youth and students, laudable sons and daughters of heroic Korea, held meetings in various parts of the country and expressed their soaring hatred against the U.S. imperialists and the south Korean puppet clique and their will to annihilate the enemy.
Students of universities, colleges and senior middle schools turned out as one with a determination to take up arms in defence of the country and the revolution, and a large number of officials of the Party and the youth league as well as ex-soldiers now working at factories and farms presented earnest petitions for rejoining the army.
The 17-year-old girl students of senior middle schools chose to become today's brave beauty Yeppuni in defence of the Party Central Committee, rather than to enroll in institutions of higher learning. Workers wrote on the petitions for joining or rejoining the army about their determination to settle accounts at the cost of their blood with the enemy who are bringing the cloud of war in their foolish dream of achieving "system destruction" in our Republic. Their burning hearts clearly showed how pure and warm the love of our people, including young people, for the Party and the country is, and how fiercely their hatred against the enemy, who are attempting to deprive them of their living base, soars.
While receiving reports on the explosive enthusiasm for enlisting in the army manifested among young people, working people and officials across the country and their determination to take revenge on the enemy, I felt great pride in having such excellent young people and revolutionary comrades, who burn their hearts with the revolutionary spirit and patriotism and never pardon injustice in the slightest, and once again gained infinite strength and courage.
That all the service personnel and people live with their lots cast in with the Party Central Committee is the genuine feature of Korea that cannot be found in any other country and in any other era, and it is the physiology of our society which the enemy can never understand. The steel-strong, revolutionary unity of the Party, the army and the people is our greatest strength incomparable to the might of scores, nay, hundreds of A-bombs or H-bombs.
There is no people in the world other than ours who, cherishing a thoroughgoing anti-imperialist revolutionary spirit, have achieved one brilliant victory after another in the anti-U.S. showdown that has continued from generation to generation and from one century into the next. As long as it has such a great and heroic people, Songun Korea will always emerge victorious.
Now the imperialist enemy are making a last-ditch effort to check our onward advance by all means.
But they are too ignorant of our people.
Our heroic people, whom the great Comrades Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il trained throughout their lives, know full well what their motherland means, what a genuine life of a human being is and how they should defend the supreme dignity of the revolution and bring their happiness into reality, and are filled with a firm determination to support the leadership of the Party and the leader with their burning hearts and through an indomitable struggle.
By leading all the service personnel and people including young people who are unfailingly faithful to its cause, our Party will completely frustrate all manner of provocative moves by the hostile forces and surely bring the final victory of the Juche revolution.
With the same spirit and mettle as they displayed in turning out as one and volunteering for the sacred struggle for defending the country and the revolution, all the service personnel and people including young people should make redoubled efforts in the general offensive to celebrate the Seventh Party Congress as a glorious meeting of victors as it will constitute a historic landmark in carrying out the revolutionary cause of the Workers' Party of Korea.
If the U.S. aggressors, the sworn enemy of the Korean people, and their south Korean puppets, a despicable group of traitors to the nation, eventually ignite a war, all the officers and men of the heroic Korean People's Army, our Party's revolutionary armed forces, will give vent to the indignation of the revolutionary army by firing salvoes to reduce the enemy's strongholds to rubble, and win victory in the war to make jubilant cheers for the prospering reunified Korea reverberate far and wide.
All the people including our heroic working class of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and a steel-strong legion of young people with a rifle in one hand and a hammer, a sickle or a writing brush in the other should thoroughly arm themselves with our Party's revolutionary view on war, intensify their anti-U.S., anti-puppet clique class consciousness and turn their soaring indignation into most strenuous efforts.
The working youth and students should achieve greatest successes conducive to building a prospering country by waging an unprecedented labour struggle and intensive studying at their workplaces and schools with the feeling that they are in the same trench as the service personnel.
All the fronts and posts should raise the fierce flames of the general offensive to death-defyingly implement the militant tasks presented in the letter of the Party Central Committee to all its members and the joint slogans of the Central Committee and Central Military Commission of the Party, and thus greet the victorious May in a dignified way carrying the records of the 70-day campaign of loyalty inscribed with heroic devotion and shining miracles as well as proud labour results dedicated to the Seventh Party Congress.
Party and working people's organizations should conduct offensive-style political and ideological work in a concentrated way and rouse the entire Party and all society to display mass heroism as never before. By doing so, in the 70-day campaign that is proceeding forcefully day and night they can create a new spirit representative of the Mallima era of Juche Korea and a new heroic fighting mettle.
I firmly believe that all the service personnel and people including young people, who always cherish a feeling of attachment to the garden of the offices of the Party Central Committee, will give free rein to the indomitable mental strength and the spirit of self-development they have cultivated under our Party's concern, and brave grave challenges of history so as to achieve the victory of the cause of Juche-oriented socialism and communism without fail and demonstrate the dignity and might of Kim Il Sung's nation and Kim Jong Il's Korea to the whole world. -0-        (2016.02.28)

American Arrestee Interviewed

Pyongyang, February 29 (KCNA) -- Otto Frederick Warmbier, student at the University of Virginia, the U.S., was interviewed with domestic and foreign journalists in Pyongyang Monday. He was arrested for committing anti-DPRK hostile acts.
Present there were domestic and foreign journalists, members of foreign diplomatic missions and missions of international bodies here and overseas Koreans staying in the homeland.
    Warmbier spoke first.
    He said:
On December 29, 2015, I entered the DPRK as a tourist.
On January 1, 2016, I committed severe crimes against the DPRK.
I am 21 years old. I am a student at the University of Virginia. I am in my third year of the university. My residential address is Ohio, United States with my family. At the moment, I lived in a rented apartment near the university. My father owns a very small factory that barely makes enough to support my family. My mother is a housewife. I am the oldest son in my family. My brother and my sister are both high school students.
I committed the crime of taking out a political slogan from the staff-only area of the Yanggakdo International Hotel. The slogan inspires the Korean people's love for their system.
The task was given to me by the Friendship United Methodist Church. At the encouragement of the Z Society and the connivance of the United States Administration, I came to commit this task. The aim of my task was to harm the motivation and work ethic of the Korean people. This was a very foolish aim.
Growing up in the United States, I was taught that the DPRK is a mysterious, "isolated communist nation" from the mass media and education. This made me an innocent thinking adventurous young man like myself, want to show my bravery in this mysterious country in order to improve my reputation and show Western victory over the DPRK.
I was scheduled to take part in a university-sponsored financial class in Hong Kong and I decided to use this opportunity to visit the DPRK as a tourist.
Based on my application's confirmation, I chose to have my tour at the end of December 2015.
On September 23, 2015, I was having dinner at my friend Stefan Webb's home with him and his mother, Sharon Webb. Sharon Webb is a deaconess in the Friendship United Methodist Church and her son Stefan Webb is an active believer in this same church.
Sharon emphasized that her church does not support the Government of North Korea and that communism should be ended. She said that communist nations rally around political slogans. She asked me to take an important political slogan from North Korea to be hung in her church as a "trophy". She continued to say that by taking this slogan, we would harm the unity and motivation of the North Korean people and show this country an insult from the West.
She offered me a used car worth $10,000 if I was successful. And she said if I was detained and not returned, her church would pay $200,000 to my mother in a way of charitable donations.
Since my family is suffering from very severe financial difficulties, I started to consider this as my only golden opportunity to earn money. Most importantly, Sharon said to never mention the Friendship United Methodist Church's involvement or no payments would come.
In early October, 2015, I informed my mother very little of my crime attempt offer, but I told that I planned to steal something precious from North Korea and if I was detained I told her that her bank account would receive transfers for my brother and sister's university tuition. She cried and said not to do anything dangerous. I considered less, not wanting to hurt my mother. But since then, I got several alluring pressures from the Friendship United Methodist Church, leading me to finally decide my crime attempt.
In the meantime, the Z Society also clandestinely encouraged my act. After I came to know that all members become very wealthy with high-paying jobs after they graduate university, I eagerly wanted to join the Z Society. That is why, in late November 2015, I intentionally revealed my plan of my act to a member of Z Society. He said my plan of action would certainly help the Z Society's goal of spreading "freedom" and eliminating "tyranny". He said if I was successful, he promised me that he would help me become a member in the Z Society. And he even said if I was caught, the Z Society could help pressure North Korea for my release. Finally, he said to never mention the Z Society's encouragement.
I arrived in Pyongyang through Beijing and committed my crime against the people and Government of the DPRK.
My crime is very severe and pre-planned.
Then he answered questions raised by journalists.
    He said:
The politicians and United States Administration use the Friendship United Methodist Church to harm the DPRK by all dirty means and ways. The Friendship United Methodist Church gave me my crime task, which is matched to United States' consistent hostile policy against the DPRK, with aims to spread Christianity in the DPRK and increase the support from the United States Administration.
Therefore, my crime was the expected output of the U.S. Administration's consistent hostile policy against the DPRK and its implementation by the Friendship United Methodist Church.
There is no doubt that the CIA knows the Z Society's encouragement of my crime.
I took many detailed steps to prepare for my crime in the DPRK while I was in the United States.
I have been very impressed by the DPRK Government's humanitarian treatment of severe criminals like myself and of the very fair and square legal procedures in the DPRK.
And I've come to see that the current "human right issues" in the DPRK, consistently highlighted by the United States Administration is simply nothing more than a hypocritical excuse to eventually overthrow the Government of the DPRK.
I apologize to the people and the Government of the DPRK and beg for forgiveness. -0-

Oppose Yankee Imperialist war exercises and sanctions against People's Korea ! Picket the US Embassy 5th of March

The  US imperialists and south Korean puppets plan to stage the largest ever war exercises against the  Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)from the 7th of March onwards . These exercises are a rehearsal to invade the DPRK .
As the crucial statement of the Korean People's Army Supreme Command says
"The U.S. imperialist aggression forces' nuclear-powered submarine North Carolina has already entered Pusan Port, F-22A Stealth fighter-bombers have been deployed in the Osan air force base and special operation troops of the U.S. imperialist aggressor forces are finding their way to south Korea one after another to get involved in the operation.
The first special warfare corps of the U.S. Army, 75th commando regiment, special commando regiment of the U.S. marines, 720th special tactics corps of the U.S. air force, special warfare team Seal and other special operation troops have already been deployed in fields. Their operation missions are to strike major strategic targets including the supreme headquarters and nuclear and strategic rocket force bases of the DPRK in wartime.
Never has there been such a time as now when almost all the special operation troops of the ground force, navy, marines and air force of the U.S. that earned an ill fame in the past overseas aggression wars, and the aggression troops that go operational for the so-called "high-density strike" have found their way to south Korea all at once.

The UK Korean Friendship Association has called a picket of the US Embassy, Grosvenor Sq, London for the 5th of March 2016 at 2pm to 4pm

NO TO FOAL EAGLE AND KEY RESOLVE !
NO TO WAR AGAINST PEOPLE'S KOREA !
NO TO  UNSC SANCTIONS!
US OUT OF KOREA !
DEFEND PEOPLE'S KOREA !

DPRK Historian Derides Park Geun Hye as Modern-day Don Quixote

Pyongyang, February 27 (KCNA) -- Historian of the Academy of Social Sciences Ri Kun Chan issued an article titled "Modern-day Don Quixote carrying a dagger in skirt belt".
    The article said:
Recently lady of Chongwadae Park Geun Hye is going by another infamous name modern-day Don Quixote.
She exactly resembles Don Quixote in the light of her outward appearance, to say nothing of her acts.
The only difference, if any, is gender but Park far surpasses Don in her actual behavior, the article said, revealing her crimes during the past three years in office.
Park regarding hostility as "confidence" and confrontation as "principle" talked about "improvement" of inter-Korean relations while deteriorating them and has desperately worked hard to keep the nation divided into two forever. Yet, she goes mischievous, allegedly claiming "curing" tragedy of the national division.
Outwardly she upholds a slogan calling for improving north-south ties and settling the issue of nation's reunification but in fact she crisscrosses alien countries only to beg for "international cooperation" aimed at escalating confrontation with the fellow countrymen in the north.
Not content with crying out for confrontation with fellow countrymen, she wielded a dagger to brand the Kaesong Industrial Zone as a financial source for nuclear and satellite development.
She reeled off vituperations slandering the fair and aboveboard proposals made by the DPRK one after another for the improvement of the north-south relations, talking about "camouflaged peace offensive", "foreign propaganda" and "something for conflict among southerners".
She often strutted about the areas along the Military Demarcation Line in combat fatigues unbecoming to her skinny body where she shouted "Let's achieve unification under liberal democracy at the cost of lives!" and called for "stern punishment".
She has turned south Korea into an outpost for a war against the north and a hotbed for a nuclear war by unhesitatingly introducing all types of nuclear war means of her American master. Yet, she claimed that "security crisis in the Korean Peninsula comes from the north" and is staging ceaseless nuclear war exercises. She, however, is misleading the public opinion, asserting that the north is chiefly to blame for "threat" and "provocations."
The desperate efforts of Park to provoke the DPRK which has joined the advanced ranks of world nuclear powers by having access to even H-bomb reminds one of Don Quixote dashing toward the big windmill risking his life.
The crimes she has committed by depriving the nation of its precious gain and pushing the inter-Korean relations to nightmare with a sharp dagger for escalating the confrontation deserve severe punishment, the author concluded. -0

ASSPUK and JISGE on the 80th anniversary of the Nanhutou Meeting

ASSOCIATION FOR THE STUDY OF SONGUN POLITICS UK

 27th of February Juche 105(2016)
The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK (ASSPUK) and the Juche Idea Study Group of England(JISGE) issued a joint statement on the 80th anniversary of the Nanhutou meeting:
This is the very day on which 80 years ago , the historic Nanhutou meeting presided over by the  great leader President KIM IL SUNG was held . The meeting lasted from the 27th of February to the 3rd of March .It was attended by the cadres and activists of the Korean People's Revolutionary (founded 5 years before in April 1932). The great leader President KIM IL SUNG made the historic report  "The Tasks of Communists in the Strengthening and Development of the Anti-Japanese National Liberation Struggle."
The great leader President KIM IL SUNG set forth a line on advancing the Korean People's Revolutionary Army  main unit into the border area and Mt. Paektu area and gradually expanding the armed struggle into the homeland. As
President KIM IL SUNG said " In this favourable situation the Korean communists are faced with the important task of further developing the anti-Japanese national liberation struggle by building up the revolutionary forces of our people and mobilizing all their efforts."
The meeting was the one that focused on completely establishing Juche for the first time in the Korean revolution and anti-Japanese national liberation struggle.
In line with the policies, the Korean revolutionaries steadfastly maintained the Juche-based stand in each stage of the revolution and held fast to it as an utmost lifeline of the nation in whatever adversities.
Hence then, the Korean revolution entered into a higher stage.
The teachings of President KIM IL SUNG at the Nanhutou meeting served as a guideline for the anti-imperialist national liberation movement in the colonies.
The banner of Juche, the banner of independence, which was the focus in the Nanhutou Meeting, serves as imperative still for building a thriving socialist nation.

Why the DPRK is right to use strong language about the south Korean puppets! -special article by Dermot Hudson

Some have taken issue with the strong language used by the Democratic People's Republic of Korea about the south Korean puppet ruler Park Geun Hye . We in the UK Korean Friendship Association , the Juche Idea Study Group and the Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK , applaud the strong stand that the DPRK is taking towards the south Korean puppet regime. It is a just and correct stand and a most revolutionary stand that has been taken by People's Korea.
The Democratic People's Republic of Korea and its supreme leadership have been subjected to a campaign of abuse, lies , invective, slander and calumny by the south Korean puppets . Much of this has actually been regurgitated by the Western media who fawn on the south Korean puppets and the US imperialists .
One south Korean 'national assembly' member even advocated the violent murder, the assassination of the DPRK supreme leadership ! This is an unspeakable crime and an intolerable provocation against the DPRK , to put it mildly . The DPRK is paying back the south Korean puppets in their own coin . When they slander and abuse the DPRK supreme leadership and the socialist system of the DPRK  the south Korean puppets should not cry and whinge that Park Geun Hye gets called an old bitch and a senile old granny  !
In actual fact under previous inter-Korean accords such as the June 15 joint declaration  slander and calumny were banned,. The DPRK did its best to adhere to this . However south Korea has all but torn up all inter-Korean agreements and accords. For several years it has carried out leaflet scattering operations aimed at undermining the dignity of the DPRK supreme leadership and the socialist system. How can the DPRK remain silent ?. Recently the south Korean
side pulled out of the Kaesong Industrial Zone, a symbol of inter-Korean co operation so thus the die is cast .
What of south Korea itself and Park Geun Hye ?South Korea  is a puppet regime maintained at bayonet point by the US army . It is an artificial entity created by US imperialism and should not be dignified with the description of state . South Korea even pays the US imperialist army for its occupation of south Korea . The economy of south Korea is dominated by US and Japanese transnational corporations  and by comprador monopolies called Jaebols. South Korea is a society where the richer get ever richer and the poor get ever poorer.
Park Geun Hye is the daughter of the notorious military fascist dictator Park Chung Hee who came to power through a bloody military coup in May 1961 in which hundreds of thousands were slaughtered. Park Chung Hee was a collaborator with the Japanese occupiers and colonialists. He later received training from the US military and CIA . This proved to be of no help in the end
as Park was killed by his own security chief on the orders of the US in 1979 having become a liability to the US imperialists.
Park Geun Hye despite being of advanced age is unmarried and has no children , this is unusual for a Korean woman in either south Korea or the DPRK . Some speculated that she was a lesbian but others pointed to her having a lot of affairs when she was young and several abortions but this is unconfirmed.
Park has a personal fortune of $7million but this is an underestimate . While she lives in luxury many south Koreans are unemployed and homeless.
Park likes to think of herself as the south Korean Thatcher , blissfully unaware that a sizeable section of the British people hated Thatcher and when Thatcher died held street parties and sang 'Ding Dong the Witch Is Dead'. One day south Korean people will dance and sign 'Ding Dong the Witch Is Dead'

Miserable Human Rights Situation in U.S. and Western Countries Disclosed (2)

Pyongyang, February 26 (KCNA) -- The DPRK Association for Human Rights Studies in an indictment issued on Feb. 23 disclosed that the U.S. and western countries wantonly violated rights of the peoples of other countries under the signboard of "human rights" and "democracy."
According to it, the U.S. set up "cultural centers" and "information services" in more than a hundred countries of the world to systematically provide them with periodicals spreading the reactionary idea and American-style way of life.
Radio Free Asia set up in January, 1994 has broadcast in various national languages for 15 hours every day, 80 percent of its programs are aimed at spreading Yankee-style culture and slinging mud at the ideologies and culture of other countries.
Some countries of the EU and Japan have massively produced and spread reactionary publications slandering the ideologies and social systems of other countries and benumbing the sound thinking of people.
The U.S. and western countries put under their control the majority of international information exchange after seizing the three fourths of the world websites. They are making desperate efforts to quell the voices representing progress and justice and embellish their unpopular social system against human rights.
They prodded dissident forces in relevant countries into fostering social confusion and chaos and put pressure on their governments for taking actions against them under the pretext of "human rights abuses." In the long run, they staged military intervention in sovereign countries under the excuse of "protection of human rights."
The U.S. had committed over 900 cases of operations for assassination and terror against prominent political figures and leading government officials of various countries from 1961 to 1976.
Its scenario to overturn the regimes of sovereign states still goes on in such anti-imperialist independent countries as Bolivia, Venezuela and Ecuador.
The U.S. and western countries are wantonly violating international laws adopted to prevent genocide and punish those involved in it under the signboard of "anti-terrorism war."
About 14 000-110 000 innocent people died every year from 2001 to 2011 due to the U.S.-led "anti-terrorism war."
For just 5 years since the U.S. invasion of Iraq in March, 2003, 1 205 000 Iraqi people were killed, a million missing, and nearly half of them are children.
According to a UN report on February 4, 2012, civilians killed due to GIs' operations for "combating terrorism" in Afghanistan numbered 3 021 in 2011 alone. 484 innocent civilians including 168 children were killed by GIs' attacks in Pakistan from 2004 to June, 2012.
U.S. forces mounted attacks on dwelling houses, hospitals and storehouses of RC organizations, high-voltage cable for cities, etc., which are banned even in wartime by international law, destroying and plundering them.
GIs massively used chemical and germ weapons during the Korean War in the 1950s, massacring innocent Koreans, and used even depleted uranium bombs during the Gulf and Balkan wars in the 1990s.
They used horrible chemical weapons destroying even human bones, cruelly massacring civilians during the Iraqi War.
The U.S. and western countries are committing more serious human rights abuses in secret prisons overseas in wanton violation of international law.
Pursuant to the regulations for operating overseas secret jails set by the U.S. administration 6 days after the September 11 incident, CIA established and operated secret prisons in various parts of the world including Poland, Afghanistan, Iraq and Thailand.
U.S. Congress in its report on Dec. 9, 2014 opened to public that CIA had resorted to monstrous tortures baffling human imagination against hundreds of prisoners for several years.
Britain and 20 other western countries offered secret prisons and interrogation centers to CIA, thus closely cooperating with it in tortures.
According to the British Guardian in October 2013, the U.S. National Security Bureau wiretapped phone messages of 35 foreign heads of state in conspiracy with the White House, Department of State and Pentagon.
The Washington Post disclosed on December 5, 2013 that the U.S. gathered 5 billion pieces of information about common citizens in various parts of the world by tracking their mobile phones.
Even western countries were no exception in wiretapping of phone messages.
According to information, 360 million pieces of phone messages were eavesdropped in Germany, 70 million in France and 46 million in Italy by the U.S.
The U.S. large-scale phone wire-tapping operations conducted worldwide for the last several decades are, indeed, u

Historic Nanhutou Meeting

Pyongyang, February 26 (KCNA) -- Eighty years has passed since the Nanhutou Meeting was convened by President Kim Il Sung. The meeting marked a new milestone in developing the overall Korean revolution centered on the anti-Japanese armed struggle onto a higher stage.
At that time, the Japanese imperialists were hell-bent on obliterating the Korean people's consciousness of independence and national characters, while hastening their preparation for invading mainland China.
To cope with the situation, the President convened the Meeting of Military and Political Cadres of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA) in Nanhutou of Ningan County, China from February 27 to March 3, Juche 25 (1936) and delivered a report "The Tasks of Communists in the Strengthening and Development of the Anti-Japanese National Liberation Struggle".
In the report, he set forth strategic policies to transfer the main force of the KPRA to the border point and the area around Mt. Paektu and gradually extend the armed struggle into the homeland, expand the movement of the anti-Japanese national united front and step up moves to found a party. The policies run through the independent stand that the Korean revolutionaries should always be loyal to the Korean revolution.
Now the army and people of the DPRK, armed with the Juche idea, are going on a general offensive for the final victory of Songun (military-first) revolution under the guidance of supreme leader Kim Jong Un. -0-

London 25th of February Juche 105(2016)
The Association For the Study of Songun Politics UK and the Juche Idea Study Group issued the following joint statement to mark the 2nd anniversary of "Let Us Hasten Final Victory Through a Revolutionary Ideological Offensive " by the dear respected leader Marshal KIM JONG UN ;

Today  is the second anniversary of the speech to the 8th  Conference of Ideological workers of the great Workers' Party of Korea which was titled "Let Us Hasten Final Victory Through a Revolutionary Ideological Offensive" by dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN This was and is a most brilliant work that shows the way to win victory in the struggle for the final victory of socialism is to mount a bold and daring revolutionary ideological offensive. In the work dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN declared that
"The one and only weapon for the Korean revolution that made its start empty-handed was a great revolutionary ideology. The revolutionaries of Korea rallied comrades and obtained weapons on the strength of the ideology; and on its strength they defeated imperialist powers and built a prospering socialism"
This is indeed a great truth and  a principle that should be adhered to constantly. Only through powerful ideological work that people can be motivated to perform greater miracles .
In view of the reactionary imperialist ideological offensive  against socialism that has been carried out over the past several decades and has recently become more and more intense. Dear respected  Marshal KIM JONG UN is a brilliant thinker who believes in the maxim "attack is the best form of defence " and is putting this into effect on the ideological front. The work calls for not only smashing the ideological and cultural infiltration of imperialism but for a most powerful ideological counter-attack to be launched against imperialist and bourgeois ideas.
The ASSPUK and JISGE hailed the publication of Let Us Hasten Final Victory Through a Revolutionary Ideological Offensive as it is a most powerful manifesto of KIMILSUNGISM-KIMJONGILISM. Moreover it shows the correct way to build socialism namely through ideological work rather than by certain other methods which have proved disastrous. The Korean revolution and People's Korea of Juche are marching forward under the glorious banner of the Red Flag whilst others have fallen by the wayside or even betrayed the cause of socialism.  The work "Let Us Hasten Final Victory Through a Revolutionary Ideological Offensive" is just like an ideological nuclear deterrent which will blast away imperialism and capitalism.

Since the publication of the work "Let Us Hasten Final Victory Through a Revolutionary Ideological Offensive"  the Korean revolution has steamed ahead at breakneck speed , a new Korean speed with miracles in construction bring wrought every day . The satellite of Juche has soared into the skies conquering space and the H bomb was tested sending shudders down the spines of the imperialists. New buildings such as Mirae Scientists' Street have sprung
up.
Today under the banner of great KIMILSUNGISM-KIMJONGILISM the Korean people are waging a fierce ideological offensive against the imperialists to defend socialism and build a powerful and thriving socialist country. The Korean people led by dear respected Marshal KIM JONG UN will be ever-victorious.

LET US HASTEN FINAL VICTORY THROUGH A REVOLUTIONARY IDEOLOGICAL OFFENSIVE

Speech at the Eighth Conference of Ideological Workers of the Workers’ Party of Korea
February 25, Juche 103 (2014)

At this significant time when we are marking the 40 anniversary of the proclamation by the great Comrade Kim Jong Il that modelling the whole society on Kimilsungism was the ultimate programme of our Party, we are holding the Eighth Conference of Ideological Workers of the Workers’ Party ofKorea.
Availing myself of this opportunity and reflecting the unanimous wish of all those attending this conference and all other members of the Party, I pay the noblest tribute to the great President Kim Il Sung, the founder and builder of the ever-victorious Workers’ Party of Korea, and to the great General Kim Jong Il, the eternal General Secretary of the Party.
And on the occasion of this conference I extend, in my capacity as First Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, warm thanks and militant greetings to those attending the conference and all other ideological workers of the Party and primary information workers across the country, who have worked with devotion and burning hearts at their workplaces and military posts as buglers of the revolution and pathfinders of the times.
This conference held on a scale unprecedented in the history of our Party, will be a milestone and mark a radical turn in exalting forever the brilliance of the imperishable exploits performed by the great President and the great General who, holding high the unfurled banner of the Juche idea, led the Korean revolution forward along a road resplendent with victory, in understanding and confirming once again the importance of ideological work and in launching a vigorous ideological offensive as demanded by the developing revolution.
The most powerful weapon for a party that is waging a revolution shouldering the people’s destiny-in fact its one and only weapon-is ideology. Without ideology, a party cannot be founded nor can it exist, and its work and revolutionary struggle are inconceivable separated from ideological work. The bloodline of the revolution is defended and the revolution advances on the strength of ideology.
The one and only weapon for the Korean revolution, which started from nothing, was a great revolutionary ideology. The revolutionaries of Korea rallied their comrades and obtained weapons with their ideology; and on its strength they defeated the imperialist powers and have built a prospering socialism. We cannot see a revolution in the history of any country or of any party that, like our revolution, started out with a definite guiding ideology and has turned that ideology into a powerful force for conducting a great struggle and transformation.
The whole course of the Korean revolution can be called a history of ideological work to give full play to the might of the truth of the revolutionary ideology of the President and the General.
In our revolution, ideological work has always been the most important work, and a great tradition of ideological work was created in its first days.
Thanks to the wise leadership of the President and the General, who gave priority to ideological work and resolved all problems by enlisting the mental strength of the masses of the people in the whole course of their leadership of the Korean revolution, the revolution inscribed only victory on its flag, even though it was blazing a new trail in history. By raising the mental strength of the service personnel and people, our Party has turned the trials decisive of victory or defeat in the revolution and its advance or setback into great upswings, and our revolution has climbed a “high mountain” whenever an upswing has been effected in ideological work.
The Third Conference of Ideological Workers of the Workers’ Party of Korea, which was held 40 years ago and at which the great General proclaimed that modelling the whole society on Kimilsungism is the ultimate programme of our Party, is of special importance in the history of our Party, as it opened a pivotal phase of the revolution on the strength of ideology.
That the General defined Kimilsungism as the guiding ideology of our Party and proclaimed that modelling the whole society on that ideology is the ultimate programme of our Party, was a political event that clearly indicated the road for bringing closer the final victory in the Korean revolution and roused all the service personnel and people to achieving it.
The historic advance to model the whole society on Kimilsungism gave birth to a powerful political General Staff that achieved oneness in ideology and leadership for the first time in the history of building a revolutionary party, to invincible revolutionary armed forces that march with the red flag of the Workers’ Party as its leading standard, and to militant ranks united single-heartedly.
History clearly shows how a powerful country which is independent, self-sufficient and self-reliant in national defence has been built on this land where once the worship of big countries and dogmatism were deeply rooted and a socialist fortress created which remains unperturbed in the face of worldwide political upheavals and the imperialists’ vicious moves to isolate and suffocate it.
Today mankind is studying the great Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism so as to find the road ahead of them. Everywhere on the globe the ideology centred on the masses, the revolutionary theory of independence, has become the spirit and banner of struggle for people who aspire after genuine freedom and happiness.
Endless is the glory our service personnel and people enjoy for having waged the revolution for scores of years along the road indicated by the great ideology and in a country which is admired by the whole world and which gave birth to the ideology guiding the era of independence.
To hasten the final victory of the Korean revolution, holding high the banner of the great Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, is their faith and will and the wish of the times and history.
We must hold aloft modelling the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism as the ultimate programme of the Party and accomplish the Korean revolution without fail on the strength of ideology, on the strength of single-hearted unity.
The standard-bearers in the effort to model the entire Party and the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism are ideological workers.
Success not only in transforming all the members of society into advocates of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism but also in transforming all realms of social life as required by Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism depends on the success of ideological work.
You should once again reflect on the deep reason why the General convened the conference of ideological workers and proclaimed in front of Party information workers from across the country the programme of modelling the whole society on Kimilsungism.
We should spark a struggle on the Party’s ideological frontfirst and heighten the intensity of ideological work so as to markedly quicken the onward march of our revolution to model the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism.
We have rich experience of forcefully propelling the historic march to model the whole society on Kimilsungism by dint of an intensive ideological offensive, and we also have powerful forces and means of information and motivation work with which to stir up the whole country all at once.
To hasten the final victory of the revolution by holding higher the ideological theory of Juche, a powerful weapon-this is the main spirit of this conference.
In view of the demands of the reality when modelling the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism poses itself as the general task in the ideological work of our Party, the Party Central Committee has presented to the Eighth Conference of Ideological Workers of the Workers’ Party of Korea the slogan, “Let us hasten final victory through a revolutionary ideological offensive!”
In the firm belief that all those attending this conference and other ideological workers throughout the Party, aware of the honour and responsibility of being ideological standard-bearers in accomplishing the cause of modelling the whole society on Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism, will give full play to the strength of our Party’s revolutionary ideology and the inexhaustible mentalstrength of all the service personnel and people, I would like to speak about some problems facing the Party in its ideological work at present.
First of all, we should concentrate all our efforts in the Party’s ideological work on firmly establishing the Party’s monolithic leadership system.
The objective of our effort to establish the Party’s monolithic leadership system across the Party and society is to consolidate the unity and cohesion of the Party, the political General Staff of the revolution, and its fighting efficiency in all aspects, implement the instructions of the President and the General to the letter, and realize our people’ dreams and ideals as soon as possible.
Now is a crucial period when we must break through the ordeals facing the revolution by rallying the service personnel and people more firmly around the Party and channel all their patriotic enthusiasm, wisdom and resourcefulness into stepping up the building of a thriving country.
The ideological system and leadership system for carrying out this historic task scrupulously and perfectly is none other than the Party’s monolithic leadership system.
The ideological work of our Party must naturally proceed from its basic task in the present period, and the main effort must be directed to implementing it.
However, Party organizations are now revealing a tendency to pay only lip service to the work of establishing the Party’s monolithic leadership system, and to engross themselves in paperwork in this regard.
Although a Party-wide discussion of the documents on establishing the Party’s monolithic leadership system wasconducted and many study sessions, public lectures and oath-taking meetings held, Party organizations failed to detect and crush in advance the modern version of a factionalist group which had formed within the Party.
Although our Party has its great revolutionary ideology and absolutely correct lines and policies, its organizations and excellent people, a factionalist group recently appeared within the Party. Our ideological workers are partly to blame for this.
This modern version of a factionalist group was an ideologically degenerate entity which was outwardly overwhelmed with fear in the face of the pressure from the imperialists and inwardly contaminated with bourgeois ideology and culture.
The factionalist practice of challenging the Party’s monolithic leadership system originates in ideological degeneration, and the renegades of ideology are bound to oppose the Party and the revolution in the long run.
Imbuing the Party and the revolutionary ranks with one ideology-this is the seed and core of the effort to establish the Party’s monolithic leadership system.
The objective of the revolutionary ideological offensive for establishing the Party’s monolithic leadership system is to make the great Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism and its embodiment, the Party’s lines and policies, an unshakeable conviction among the masses of the people.
The revolutionary ideology of our Party has always accorded with the aspirations and demands of the masses, and there is no line or policy of the Party which they cannot understand and accept.
A breakthrough should be made in the ideological offensive by raising across the Party another strong wind of studying the immortal works of the President and the General and the documents of the Party, a library of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism.
These works and documents are excellent textbooks for the education in the one and only ideology and a great encyclopaedia explaining our Party’s lines and policies.
If they study them in a chronological order and in a systematic way, Party members, other working people and service personnel can equip themselves firmly with the Juche idea, the Songun idea, Kim Jong Il’s patriotism, therevolutionary traditions of our Party and class awareness, and fully understand any new lines and policies advanced by the Party.
It is important to conduct education work in a scrupulous manner so that all are well-versed in the instructions the President and the General gave to their own individual sectors and units and the Party’s policies, and make them a creed in their work and life.
You need to explain to the masses the Party’s policies for agiven period in a logical and convincing way so that they empathize with them and accept them as their own. You should focus on informing people in simple terms about things they are eager to know and hear on the basis of the Party’s policies and in the same way that you would tell a thirsty person where he or she can find water to drink.
In the future, if everybody at a unit is as well informed of the Party’s lines and policies as they are of their family affairs, theunit will be considered to have conducted ideological work effectively and to have established the monolithic leadership system.
Exceptions” must never be permitted in ideological work.
The fact is that even a rolling stone may gather moss; so, one is bound to degenerate when afforded exceptional treatment.
There may be some special tasks assigned by the Party, but within our Party there cannot exist “exceptions” who are allowed to neglect their ideological life and be ignorant of its lines and policies. In the case of special units, ideological work should be strengthened further and they should be rendered as strong as steel in the furnace of ideological struggle.
Ideological workers should be able to discern at a glance if there is something alien in the eyes of others. They must use the ideological “scalpel” promptly root out the causes of such misdemeanours as arguing over issues decided by the Party, undermining its leadership exploits covertly or overtly and breeding corruption within our ranks in contravention of our Party’s and class principles.
It is important to conduct the work of imbuing the Party and the revolutionary ranks with one ideology in close combination with the practical struggle.
A person’s ideology is expressed in practice and its outcome, rather than in revolutionary rhetoric or pledges. The man, who, although he seldom speaks, carries out the plans and decisions of the Party Central Committee according to the set timetable and at the standard demanded by it, is one who is armed with the Party’sideology as an element of his faith.
Endeavouring to implement the ideology of the Party and champion its policies-this is the clearest manifestation of one’s loyalty to it and important for making the validity of its lines and policies an element of one’s faith.
The soldier-builders who successfully carried out the project at Masik Pass last year were determined to wage a death-defying struggle not to delay even for a moment the completion date proclaimed to the world by the Party Central Committee; they performed a miraculous feat by completing in one year a project which was estimated to take ten, thus staunchly defending the prestige of the Party.
The on-site political work of the People’s Army, which was three-dimensional and offensive-style ideological work to inspire everyone from generals to private soldiers with a single desire to carry out their Supreme Commander’s order, serves as a good example in the ideological offensive to establish the Party’smonolithic leadership system.
In implementing the instructions of the President and the General, the Party’s new line of developing the two fronts simultaneously and Party policies, all sectors and all units should conduct an ideological analysis and review of their failures and their causes. Then they should press on with the frontline-style information and motivation campaign to learn from the service personnel’s spirit of carrying out their tasks even if it costs them their lives.
The main targets of the ideological offensive for establishing the Party’s monolithic leadership system are the misguided ideological viewpoint and work attitude of the officials who give verbal support to the Party’s policies but do not implement them instantly.
We must combat the ideological maladies of those officials who remain indifferent to the obstacles lying in the way of implementing the Party’s policies for their own sectors, units and regions, as well as to the difficulties facing the people in their everyday lives. The ideological education and ideological campaign aimed at rooting out such undesirable ideological elements as defeatism, self-preservation, formalism, expediency, irresponsibility and self-centredness should be conducted, based on an appropriate methodology. The information and organization sectors of the Party should be scrupulous in working in close cooperation with each other, while the ideological campaign should be combined with legal action to maximize its efficiency.
The soaring mental spirit of our service personnel and people who, after liquidating the modern version of a factionalist group, have hardened their resolve to follow the Party Central Committee invariably along the long road of revolution, should be fanned to flare up into the flames of a great revolutionary upsurge.
Historically speaking, the great victory was won in the Fatherland Liberation War after the purge of an anti-Party, counterrevolutionary factionalist clique following the Fifth Plenary Meeting of the Party Central Committee; the Chollima upswing was brought about in the course of eliminating the August 1956 factionalist group; and world-startling successes were achieved in the showdown with the United States and in the socialist industrialization drive after the anti-Party revisionists were exposed and purged at the 15th Plenary Meeting of the Fourth Party Central Committee.
On its ideological front the Party should actively encourage all Party members and other working people to follow in their forerunners’ footsteps and become standard-bearers and 10 meritorious workers in the struggle to champion the Party Central Committee by bringing about a revolutionary upsurge.
If all our service personnel and people, rallied firmly around the Party, make substantial progress in socialist construction, those who are wavering due to a lack of confidence will be brought to their senses and the monolithic leadership system of the Party will be established solidly across the Party and society.
Another important task facing our Party in its ideological work is to raise a strong wind of an ideological campaign to boost the struggle for defending socialism.
In the present era, as in the past, socialism represents the ideal of humanity, and it is the irreversible trend of the times.
We are now following an untrodden historical path staking the dignity of our independent people and the destiny of socialism in the struggle to repulse the imperialists’ frantic attacks. Today the path of socialism and the inevitability of its victory depend on the struggle of Korea’s revolutionaries.
In performing this honourable mission our Party and people have assumed before history, the ideological workers, the red, hardcore elements of the Party, should become undying torchlight and loud bugles.
They should give Party members and other working people a clear understanding of the essence and character of the present struggle to defend socialism.
In the struggle we waged in defence of socialism in the 1990s, we created a historic miracle of safeguarding our ideology and system against the allied imperialist forces’ moves to isolate and stifle our country.
The ongoing struggle to defend socialism can be said to be aimed at prevailing over imperialism in all fields of social life by consolidating the victories and successes achieved so far and giving full play to the advantages and might of socialism.
Recently, our Party has put forward both the agricultural and the scientific fronts as outposts for defending socialism. Its intention is to constantly remind our people that not only on the frontline where guns are levelled at each other but also in all other places where they live, they are engaged in an invisible, fierce confrontation and competition with the imperialists. If we, resting on our laurels and praising ourselves, do not give spur to the revolution and construction and thus fail to bring the people real benefits, such socialism is doomed to lose its appeal.
We should build a thriving country as soon as possible by giving full play to the advantages and might of socialism, which capitalism can never imitate nor possess, so as to make socialism as different in all respects from capitalism as heaven is from earth.
A vigorous ideological campaign should be launched to demonstrate the might of our great army-people unity on a higher level in building a thriving country.
The solid single-hearted unity of the army and people around the Party constitutes the cornerstone of our style of socialism and a great foundation in building a thriving nation. The successive eye-opening miracles which have been wrought recently, shaking the land, mountains and rivers throughout the country, are all the fruits of the great unity between the service personnel and people and of their concerted efforts.
The People’s Army should, in the future, too, be the primemover and pioneer in strengthening this great army-people unity.
It should intensify its information and motivation work geared to giving full play to the might of an army that is strong in ideology both in national defence and socialist construction. The Party organizations and political organs in the army should regularly create such new terms as the “Masikryong speed” by carrying forward the proud history of the revolutionary army which has proved with its indomitable revolutionary spirit that Korea’s determination is its materialization and reality, and civilian Party organizations should accelerate the work of learning from the revolutionary spirit and fighting style of the service personnel.
When the time comes for us to wage an all-out life-and-death fight with the enemy, we can achieve final victory on the strength of the great army-people unity, all-people resistance, based on the revolutionary soldier spirit.
All sectors and all units should launch a dynamic ideological offensive so as to make the flames of collective innovation flare up.
Our people gained valuable experience in ushering in a golden age of socialist construction through an all-people, collective innovation movement in the 1970s, a decade of great change.
In the 1970s, when the country was resounding with the drumbeats of revolution and the bugles sounding the speed campaign, they made magnificent creations and changes unprecedented in the history of their country, while militarily coping with the large-scale war exercises staged by the US imperialists. It was during those days that our country became the first in the world to abolish the tax system, enforced universal 11-year compulsory education and rendered massive assistance to the developing countries and the fighting peoples around the world.
It is the intention of our Party to carry on the building of an economic giant and a civilized state by bringing into play the might of socialism, the might of collectivism, as happened in the 1970s.
The flames of the movement to win the title of O Jung Hup-led 7th Regiment and the three-revolution red flag movement should flare up more fiercely in military and civilian units, and vigorous socialist emulation drives be launched in sectors, units and regions and by stages. By so doing, we can ensure that a strong wind of collective competition sweeps the whole country.
For the present our Party demands that all military and civilian sectors create model units and, with them providing the initial spark, kindle the flames of joint innovation. Ideological workers should focus on enlisting the creative zeal and activeness of the masses both in creating units that advance ahead of the times and in organizing competition for overtaking them.
The ideological campaign against the abuse of authority and bureaucratism should be stepped up to make all officials rallying points that, sharing weal and woe with the masses, unite their collectives, as well as dependable point-men in the mass innovation movement.
Efforts should be channelled into information and motivation work for bringing into full play the spirit of self-reliance, the might of which has been fully demonstrated in the severe trials of history.
We can say that the whole history of socialism of our own style boils down to self-reliance. In the days of building socialism by their own efforts, our Party and people underwent unprecedented ordeals and difficulties, and they were ultimately loaded with all sorts of honours our nation could not enjoy in its history spanning thousands of years. Had we succumbed to the pressure from outside forces and abandoned the principle of self-reliance, Juche-oriented socialism would not have been born and our country’s name would have disappeared along with the collapse of the worldwide socialist system. On the track of self-reliance Chollima rose up on the ruins of war and the miracle was achieved of manufacturing and launching an earth satellite and becoming a nuclear state, a miracle of great significance in the national history.
Ideological workers should intensify among officials and working people education by means of the history of our socialist construction, so as to implant in them the belief that self-reliance is the path of building a thriving nation.
Self-reliance is the spirit of national self-sustenance and the spirit of going beyond the cutting edge to lead the whole world by our own efforts, with our own resources and with our own technology. We need to steadily build on the fighting spirit with which we made tractors and electric locomotives from scratch and the spirit with which we conquered space by our own efforts and with our own technology. We should undertake an information and motivation offensive to ensure that everyone turns out in the campaign to make everything in our country the assets of socialism that cannot be found elsewhere in the world, fully conscious that they must go beyond the cutting edge even at their own posts and workplaces. We should provide ideological support for the efforts to make a breach in the imperialists’ manoeuvring to monopolize high technology, and should create advanced science and technology of our own.
It is important to be active in encouraging scientists and technicians firmly to defend their revolutionary positions on the grand march of self-reliance led by the locomotive called “science and technology.” Ideological workers should play a major role in creating a climate in which the importance of science is recognized throughout society and in which all people are made well-versed in science and technology.
We must launch an information offensive in which, ideologically and morally, we overpower the imperialist reactionary forces who are trying to stamp out socialism.
The imperialists are currently hell-bent on a smear campaign to turn black into white and are persisting in their attempts to infiltrate corrupt reactionary ideology and culture into our country with our service personnel and young people as the target; at the same time they are still manoeuvring to apply sanctions against our country, and stifle it. Whereas reactionary ideology and culture were their guide to aggression in the past, they are playing a leading role in their aggression at present.
The struggle to defend socialism should be an offensive operation to, outwardly, gain the political and ideological upper hand over the imperialists who are hindering our onward movement and, inwardly, sweep up non-socialist practices and decadent ideology and culture by means of our revolutionary ideology and culture.
Ideological workers should undermine the enemy’s morale by launching a skilful media campaign, a radio campaign, aimed at giving wide publicity to the validity of our ideology and cause and at laying bare the vulnerability and foul nature of the imperialists. They should make larger numbers of ideological “missiles” capable of severely damaging the enemy and instilling firm confidence in victory among our service personnel and people.
They should take the initiative in launching operations to thwart the imperialists’ moves for ideological and cultural infiltration, while putting up double and treble “mosquito nets” to prevent the viruses of capitalist ideology which the enemy is persistently attempting to spread, from crossing our border.
By nature, the working masses reject the bourgeois ideology and culture which preach the money-is-almighty principle and the law of the jungle. We need to create and propagate larger numbers of wholesome and revolutionary works of art andliterature, articles and presentations of our own style which highlight the beautiful dreams and ideals of the masses and which brim over with national flavour, so as to encourage our people to turn their backs on bourgeois ideology and culture of their own accord. Decisive steps should be taken to use the Internet as a medium for giving publicity to our ideology and culture in order to cope with the enemy’s moves to propagate their reactionary ideology and culture by misusing mankind’s latest scientific andtechnological achievements.
The sector of ideological work and the related units should work out detailed plans for putting the mass media and external publicity means on a modern and IT basis, and make persevering efforts to implement them.
The Party’s ideological work should be conducted in an aggressive manner.
Our Party’s strategy and tactics in ideological work are to encourage the whole country to seethe and make a revolutionary leap forward by fanning the flames of the ideological offensive so that they flare up fiercely, in the spirit of advancing against all odds.
The ideological position of our Party should be established in the form for attack, not for defence.
We should also conduct ideological education aimed at imbuing the whole society with the red ideology of the Workers’Party in a proactive way, conduct political work aimed at calling forth the mental strength of all the service personnel and people as it is done on the front line, and conduct the struggle to sweep away all shades of evil ideas at lightning speed.
In order to conduct ideological work in an aggressive manner, it is necessary, above all, to root out the defeatist outlook revealed among ideological workers.
Ideological workers who are infected with such an outlook cannot take even a single step by themselves even if they are placed in the vanguard of the ideological offensive.
The “Yongil bomb spirit” created in the forests of Mt. Paektu and the do-or-die resistance spirit of Xiaowangqing and Chechangzi did not emerge in ordinary times, and the legend of Chollima, the miracles of the speed campaign, the revolutionary soldier spirit and the Kanggye spirit were not born under more favourable circumstances than at present.
Comrades,
Defeatism in ideological work is more dangerous than that in economic work. The present ideological offensive must start with eliminating defeatism from among ideological workers.
Those engaged in ideological work in the birthplace of the Juche idea must not wait for a miracle to occur, but go purposefully among the people, carrying with them the weapon of ideology, and become active doers and devoted creators who find solutions.
The posts in national defence, at factories, in farm villages and in other places where you are working bear the imprints of examples of the outstanding art of leadership set by the peerlessly great men who found in the simple opinions of the service personnel and people the best method of turning misfortune into blessing and adversity into prosperity.
If you work with the history of the revolutionary leadership of the President and the General as your textbook, you will find nothing you cannot understand and overcome in your work, and our Party’s ideological work will truly become an initial spark for kindling the flames of a leap forward.
In order to ensure the success of the revolutionary ideological offensive, we should fire an opening salvo of an ideological campaign and make our fire concentrated, regular and accurate.
First of all, by enlisting all the forces and means already provided for information and motivation purposes, you should conduct ideological work in a flexible and intensive manner.
When the Party puts forward a new line or policy, all the networks of education, public lectures and motivation work, as well as the mass media, should be mobilized promptly to inform all the people, ranging from officials at the central organs to farmers in remote, mountainous villages. The contents, forms, means and methods of ideological work should, to all intents and purposes, be geared and subordinated to carrying out revolutionary tasks. The forces and means of information and motivation work should be concentrated on those projects the Party attaches importance to, thus kindling the fire of a fresh leap forward.
Ideological work should also, by giving uninterrupted publicity to the Party’s intentions and leading a continuous advance in the ideological struggle, ensure that no shades of evil ideas ever make inroads into our ranks.
This can be likened to removing falling snow from a runway with a snow blower to prevent it from piling up. Ideological work should not be a flash in the pan or conducted with everyone standing on ceremony, but done regularly regardless of the time and place, so that people can imbibe the Party’s ideas the waythey breathe air. A ceaseless and intensive ideological campaign should be conducted to sweep away alien ideological trends and life styles. And the repetition of stereotyped speeches and methods should be strictly guarded against.
It is also important to select the right targets of the ideological offensive based on an understanding of preparedness, characteristics and ideological tendencies, and apply appropriate means and methods.
President Kim Il Sung said that work with people should be conducted in the way a mother does, who talks differently when teaching her eldest son and youngest son. If the employees of their units number ten thousand, ideological workers should know the inner thoughts of each of them and work with them using ten thousand methods.
The path of our revolution is not smooth, and every revolutionary front requires genuine and well-qualified ideological workers who cherish the staunch revolutionary spirit.
In fact, we have a vast force of Party information workers and primary information workers enrolled in the networks of education, public lectures and motivation work. They number tens of thousands. If they are well prepared we can form an elite corps and with such a contingent, we will have nothing to fear and nothing will be beyond our strength.
Among his revolutionary soldiers, the great General treasured and loved most dearly those who defended the ideological front, and led and encouraged them at every step, saying that a film or an article is as powerful as several thousand tons of food grain or tens of thousands of artillery shells.
Our Party’s ideological workers have assumed a heavy task.
Each of them should become strong in ideas and faith, someone whom the enemy fear more than they do an entire division or corps.
Although simple and modest in appearance, their hearts are always burning with the Party’s intentions and they enthusiastically support the revolution and struggle-this is a feature our Party thinks ideal for information workers.
Ideological workers should be true revolutionaries who never abandon the Party’s principle of ideological work, whatever the adversity. They should have the passion to cover long distances in a single night to inform people of the Party’s intentions and to burn the midnight oil for several days in studying the Party’s policies and learning knowledge and technology.
Having a proper outlook on people is a vital requirement for ideological workers, who must make them open their minds. Our Party’s information workers should be true sons and daughters of the people who learn from them before teaching them and who highly appreciate their efforts. To this end, they should first remember, whenever they approach them, that they are standing before the great people whom the President and the General believed in as in heaven and regarded as their teachers throughout their lives.
Love and respect for the labouring people emanate from the spirit of loving labour. Our officials should mingle with the masses, their hands stained with grease and their shoes with earth, and be proud of doing so.
The President and the General performed great exploits for the people throughout their lives, while keeping nothing back for themselves.
Regarding the ideas and trust of the Party as their wealth, ideological workers should find the worth of living in informing as many people as possible of the Party’s policies and ensuring that collective innovations are brought about at the units under their charge. A genuine ideological worker is someone who values more than gold the excitement he or she feels whenever people are eager to be informed of the Party’s intentions and when they support the Party’s policies whole-heartedly.
When the Party’s intentions are passed on and revolutionary songs and cheering for the Workers’ Party and socialism resound wherever our Party’s ideological workers go, it will be a great encouragement to the Party.
The entire Party should become information and motivational workers, and all officials should conduct political work.
Whether they are Party, administrative, economic or primary officials, they should regard it as the key to stimulate the mental strength of the masses, and direct due efforts to it. In particular, chief secretaries of provincial, city and county Party committees and senior Party officials in all sectors and all units should place ideological work under their personal control and conduct it with all sincerity and with great efforts.
In the 1970s all officials, under the leadership of the Party, used to go down to their subordinate units with rucksacks on their backs like the anti-Japanese guerrillas had done, rouse people as required by the Chongsan-ri spirit and Chongsan-ri method and bring about innovations. This vibrant spirit should prevail throughout the country.
Comrades,
The revolutionary tasks facing us are enormous and the situation remains as severe as ever. However, we should make a leap forward to bring the future closer and achieve a ceaseless advance through our struggle.
As soon as you leave this conference venue, you should go among the service personnel and people to inform them of the intentions of the Party Central Committee and take up your starting positions for the ideological offensive with a fresh determination.
I stress once again: The more vibrantly the ideological front seethes, the more fully the mental strength of the masses will be demonstrated, and the more the service personnel and people are roused, the faster the revolution will advance.
I firmly believe that all our ideological workers, including those attending this conference, will become political workers of the type of the great Comrades Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il who make the whole country seethe and transform the entire army along revolutionary lines, thus hastening our final victory.
