             It is also imperative to launch a powerful struggle against revisionism in the literary sphere.
          As the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung said, revisionism and the Western way of life are cousins. It is natural that those who follow revisionism introduce the Western way of life, and those who are imbued with the Western way of life follow revisionism. Today, revisionism goes under various names, but all of them are only varieties of bourgeois ideology. They are little different in that, as servants of imperialism, they open door to imperialism’s ideological and cultural infiltration, and play the role of its mouthpiece. This can be seen clearly in the acts of the betrayers of revolution, who are introducing at random the corrupt reactionary art and literature and the capitalist way of life that paralyze the revolutionary spirit of the people and make them mental cripples, and quickly modelling art and literature on the bourgeois and “Western” pattern under the cloak of “liberalization.” They advertise this as if it were ideological emancipation. Introduction of bourgeois ideology and culture, which praise the oppression and exploitation of man by man and make people mental cripples, can by no means be an ideological emancipation.
The reactionary nature of revisionist literature is also expressed in rejecting the Party spirit, the working-class spirit and the popular spirit.
Modern revisionists do not draw a line between the revolutionary literature of the working class and the reactionary literature of the bourgeoisie; they advocate cosmopolitan literature that transcends social class. They maintain that the class spirit is not necessary at all in literature.
The ideological hotbed of revisionist literature is bourgeois ideology. Because it is based on this ideology, it is no different in its essence from bourgeois literature. Both conventional revisionism and modern revisionism scheme to make working-class literature degenerate into bourgeois literature. 
Conventional revisionists played the role of a guide for introducing bourgeois literature invisibly under the guise of socialism, whereas modern revisionists have revealed their true colours, openly claiming bourgeois restoration and opening the door to the imperialists.
The so-called “supraclass literature” and “cosmopolitan literature” the revisionists advocate in an attempt to paralyze the social function of literature as a weapon of the class struggle is merely a smokescreen to hide their reactionary nature of betraying the interests of the working class.

"The Cleanest Race" - the "academic falsification of imperialism against People' s Korea

                                                                             

       Again at the request from many friends of the DPRK we refute the accusation smade against the Democratic People's Republic of Korea by a so-called academic expert Brian Myers in his book the "Cleanest Race ". Myers teaches at a south Korean university and is a contributor to the imperialist press of the US.
                               Myers's comes out with absurd arguments about the DPRK in order to smear it and sling mud. His book claims that the DPRK is based on extreme racial nationalism and this is somehow rooted in Japanese fascism. This is a most profound insult to the DPRK and its supreme leadership. As everyone knows that the DPRK was born of the struggle to free the country from Japanese imperialism. Many anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters fell in the fight against
Japanese fascism . Indeed the great leader President Kim Il Sung lost many family members in the struggle against Japanese imperialism  and fascism, his father, mother, uncle, younger brother and cousin. How on earth  could the DPRK be based on something that its founding father fought against so hard for 20 years.
       Japanese imperialism did a great deal of damage in Korea and was hated and rejected by all Korean people as the great leader president Kim Il Sung said
 " the Japanese imperialist marauders harshly exploited and repressed the Korean people. They considered ours an "inferior nation", and allowed no Korean to participate in the management of factories, enterprises and state establishments.
  The Japanese imperialists took under their wings only a handful of pro-Japanese elements and traitors to the nation who, divorced from the people, had become their faithful stooges.
  They tried to destroy our national culture with its 5,000-year old history, and imposed upon our nation the Japanese language, Japanese customs, Japanese culture and the Japanese religion called "Shintoism", for the purpose of paralysing the national consciousness of the Korean people.
  With the liberation of our country from Japanese imperialist rule in August 1945, the days of insult and slavery, the bitterness of which penetrated our nation to the bone, came to an end and the wide road to a new life was opened before the Korean people."

                   It is quite inconceivable that the DPRK would be in any way influenced by an ideology that regarded Korean's as an inferior nation.
When Korea was liberated in 1945 as a result of the armed struggle led by the great leader President Kim Il Sung  he stated that one of the main tasks confronting the Korean people was to eliminate all traces of Japanese
imperialism
"At present, the Korean revolution is at a stage where it must sweep away the survivals of Japanese imperialism and feudalism and build a new, democratic society, that is, at the stage of anti-imperialist, anti-feudal democratic revolution."

         Furthermore he stated 'that the general ideological mobilization campaign for nation building was a great ideological transformation to eliminate all degenerate and decadent customs and attitudes to life, a leftover from Japanese imperi­alism, fully develop the spirit and features, morality and fighting efficiency required of the workers of a new and democratic Korea, and create whole­some and vibrant national stamina. He instructed that this campaign be con­ducted by the methods of ideological struggle and ideological education in close combination with the people’s practical struggle to build the new country.'

                         In the DPRK all traces of Japanese rule were obliterated. However in south Korea the US occupiers made the former collaborators of Japanese imperialism their collaborators and gave them high positions. One of them was Park Chung Hee the military fascist dictator of the 60s and 70s who was a lieutenant  in the Japanese Army (his daughter Park Geun Hye is now the chief executive of south Korea). In south Korea laws such as the repressive "NationalSecurity Law" are modelled on the old Japanese colonial laws . It is south Korea which has been experienced several decades of fascist rule both civilian and military . Ironically this is where Mr Myers is teaching and receiving a salary (we wonder  just how much he is paid by the south Korean puppets).from the south Korean fascist state. One wonders how he can have the face to talk about fascism.

   Myer's argument is a clumsy and intellectual fraudulent which actually equates 'nationalism' or chauvinism in imperialist countries with the anti-imperialist revolutionary nationalism of oppressed countries. Thus in the twisted world view of Mr Myers the victim is seen as the same as the aggressor.  

                 In today's world it is actually US imperialism that represents a form of fascism or international dictatorship  as it tries to impose its will on the world through its so-called "New World Order " and its "coca-cola-isation and "McDonald-isation " which tries to obliterate the culture and national identities of other countries. The US imperialists seek to 'globalise' the world and create a world state.  The DPRK is one of the few countries to stand up to this and should be applauded.

     The idea of Mr Myers on the DPRK being somehow rooted in Japanese fascism is also a modern form of the old Cold War myth created by the ideologists of the CIA that somehow communism and fascism are the same.

                    Myers tries to tar the DPRK with the brush of chauvinism and racial nationalism.However the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il made it clear that this was not the case

      " We should distinguish clearly between true nationalism that loves the nation and defends its interests and bourgeois nationalism that advocates the interests of the bourgeois class. Bourgeois nationalism reveals itself as national egoism, national exclusivism and big- power chauvinism in the relationship between countries and nations; it is reactionary in that it creates antagonism and disagreement between countries and nations, and checks the development of friendly relations between the various peoples of the world."

               In the DPRK there are some non-Korean residents living there notably Joe Dresnock the US defector. There are some mixed race people in the DPRK. Leader Kim Jong Il strongly argued against any form of discrimination against
mixed race people in the DPRK. Non Koreans are permitted to obtain DPRK
nationality through the DPRK nationality law.
                        The DPRK has a very proud internationalist record. It has assisted many liberation struggles throughout the world and given material assistance to some countries. Foreign guests to the DPRK always receive a warm welcome.This the reality of the DPRK .
                        Myers's book draws heavily on DPRK novels and also DPRK comic books aimed at teenagers. Has any tried to do an analysis of US foreign policy or US society using "Superman " or "Batman " comics or maybe American
computer games ?
          At the end of the day "The Cleanest Race " is  a poorly researched book . It is the worst kind of bourgeois academic falsification and slander. One guesses thatMr Myers has to serve the people paying his salary i.e the south Korean
authorities .

The Korean revolution was a serious political struggle, a class struggle, against imperialism, dominationism, sycophancy, dogmatism and revisionism, and an unprecedentedly complicated and arduous struggle that could not be won by means of the existing formula or methods. Free from the past, stained with sycophancy and dogmatism, Kim Il Sung, in the whole course of leading the revolution, regarded independence as its lifeline and solved all the problems arising in the revolution and construction in our own way and in conformity with the demands of our revolution, the interests of our people and the actual situation of our country.  The schools should educate their students to be stronger in revolutionary faith and more faithful to obligation than anybody else. What is done by dint of faith and obligation is the revolution, and it is thanks to them that the life of revolutionaries shines. Report of highly successful meeting of the Juche Idea Study Group of England

                      A meeting of the Juche Idea Study Group of England  along with the Association for the Study of Songun Politics UK was held to mark the 1st anniversary of the passing away of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il , and also the 21st anniversary of the appointment of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il as Supreme Commander of the KPA   , the 95th anniversary of the birth of Madame Kim Jong Suk Mother of Korea and the 1st anniversary of the appointment of the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un  as Supreme Commander of the KPA. It was well attended and the audience included members of the JISGE, ASSPUK and the UK Korean Friendship Association as well progressive social scientists and political activists.

The meeting observed  a 2 minute silence in memory of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il. The film "Korea Changing Sorrow Into Strength and Courage " was then  shown.
The chairman of the JISGE  then spoke he said (excerpts)

The passing away of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il on December 17th 2011 was so unexpected it was a great loss, a massive emotional wrench for the the Korean people who loved and respected the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il it was also a great loss for the Juche idea and Songun idea followers of the world .

The great leader comrade Kim Jong Il led the Korean revolution for nearly six decades.

His Songun (army first ) revolutionary leadership began on the 25th of August 1960 and he began working at the central committee of the Workers' Party of Korea on the 19th June 1964.

During his whole life he visited at least 14 290 units across the DPRK covering a distance 669 844 km, which is the equal to travelling around the world 17 times

Instead of "opening up " and "reform " the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il pursued a path of rugged independence. He took many measures to revitalise the economy on the basis of economic independence . On the 19th of June 1997 he wrote the immortal classic work "On Preserving the Juche Character and National Character of" the Revolution and Construction" this was a militant anti imperialist manifesto against globalisation. After the frustration of socialism in some countries the imperialists and world bourgeoisie pushed ahead with the sinister scheme of globalisation to enslave whole economies and obliterate national cultures . Comrade Kim Jong Il wrote

" Taking advantage of the trials which the cause of independence for the popular masses is undergoing, the imperialists are now working more blatantly than ever to obliterate the Juche character and traits of other countries and nations and realize their dominationist ambition. At the present moment, the independent development of the country and nation is inconceivable and it is impossible to prevent the people from falling to the lot of colonial slavery again, apart from the struggle against the dominationist machinations of the imperialists."

The experience of the Korean revolution has proved beyond all doubt independence is underpinned by armed force , by Songun. As respected Marshal Kim Jong Un pointed out “Songun means our independence, dignity and lifeblood “The great leader in the 1990s administered Songun politics . Comrade Kim Jong Il On the 1st of January 1995 he visited the Takabasol(Dwarf Pine tree) army post and declared declared that the DPRK was at the crossroads , that they could either live under independent socialism or become colonial slaves of the imperialists (colonial slavery had become the lot of many countries under the so-called New World Order of Bush. Clinton and Blair). To defend independence and socialism the DPRK needed to effect Songun politics , the revolutionary line of giving priority to the army and modelling society on the revolutionary soldier spirit. This was the only way to defeat imperialism and defend independence. Songun is an embodiment of the Juche idea.

Independence , Songun and socialism which the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il consistently defended throughout his life are also the great legacy that he was bequeathed . The image of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il shines brightly and he will be immortal in the hearts of the Korean people as well the world people aspiring for independence and socialism. We are fully confident that the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un will follow in the footsteps of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il leading the the DPRK victoriously along the road of independence, Songun and socialism.

The secretary general of the group who is also secretary of the Stoke On Trent branch of the JISGE said

KIM JONG IL's life began in the battles for Korea's national and social liberation. KIM JONG IL was born on February 16th, 1942, in the Paektusan Anti-Japanese Imperialist Guerrilla Army Camp. His parents were the Great Revolutionary Generals of Mount Paektu, KIM IL SUNG and KIM JONG SUK. Even as a child, KIM JONG IL worked in support of KIM IL SUNG in the effort of nation building, after liberation on August 15th, 1945.

All of KIM JONG IL's activities were devoted to the safeguarding and consolidating the ideological and theoretical heritage of KIM IL SUNG. KIM JONG IL's most outstanding contribution to the development of philosophy, was the systematization of the Juche Idea into a comprehensive system. The works of KIM JONG IL is a encyclopedia of theoretical originality. KIM JONG IL's writings and essays have provided answers to many complex questions concerning contemporary revolutionary theory and practice. On February 19th, 1974, KIM JONG IL, proclaimed the strategy of modelling the whole of DPRK society on the Juche Idea. Modelling the entire society on the Juche Idea means advancing the Korean Revolution with the Juche philosophy as the sole guiding ideology, building and perfecting a socialist society on the basis of the Juche Idea. Indeed, the integral ideology of Kimilsungism-Kimjongilism has been acknowledged by the progressive academics and activists throughout the world, to be the leading socialist thought of the 21st century.

KIM JONG IL saw that the Korean people's happiness and prosperity as the foremost priority of party and state activity in the DPRK. KIM JONG IL set the strategic goal of building a great, prosperous and powerful socialist country relying on the initiative and enthuthiasm of the Korean people. Displaying the spirit of Kanggye, the people of the DPRK have forward pressed with technical renovation in the industrial and agricultural sectors. Employing such means as CNC equipment and information technology, the socialist economy of Peoples Korea has become more efficient.It was KIM JONG IL who supervised the Juche-orientation and modernization of the DPRK's economic structure, that the Korean people are now enjoying all the materials benefits of socialism. The national wealth and social relations in the DPRK belong to the Korean workers, peasants and intellectuals, and not to the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund and Transnational corporations.

The most remarkable success has been achieved by Peoples Korea in the area of socialist culture under the leadership of KIM JONG IL. Socialist culture and literature in the DPRK has reached the peak of human creativity. Many figures involved in art and literature around the world, lavish praise on Juche culture, calling it a model of humanistic and revolutionary art and literature. KIM JONG IL molded a culture in the DPRK which was profoundly socialist in content and national in form, popular in style and refined in substance. In the DPRK, both the structure and superstructure of society has become harmonized under the banner of Songun.

referring to the launch of Kwangmysong -3  the speaker  said
"it is entirely of the DPRK's own manufacture. The DPRK does not need permission from the US or the honourable member for Harrogate to launch satellites"

A  lecturer at the University of London said that recently dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un had sent a letter to the Academy of Social Sciences  on the occasion of its 60th anniversary . The great leaders comrade Kim Il Sung and
comrade Kim Jong Il had always attached great importance to social science. It is a key task to develop Juche social science. At present the intellectual and cultural life of imperialism is degenerate. The corporations are eating away at academic freedom.
          The speaker said that the best way to remember the great  leader comrade  Kim Jong Il is to study the Juche idea. The Juche idea overcome dogmatist and  idealistic conceptions which held back the scientific study . He explained how the Juche idea was the ultimate idea for the liberation of humanity.
               The general secretary of the New Communist Party spoke . He said that the DPRK  and WPK are attacked by Right and Left revisionists as well the bourgeois media. He said that the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il articulated the essence of socialism in a simple way. He wrote very good works such as "On the Juche Idea" and "Socialism is A Science" . He made a concrete contribution to the reunification of Korea by holding the summit meeting with Kim Dae Jung.

                               The JISGE chairman referred to the successful launch of the Kwangmysong 3 satellite by the Unha 3 rocket of the DPRK. He said that in the socialist DPRK rockets go up but in capitalist Britain only prices , rent and poverty go up! (this remark received rapturous applause from the audience.  The launch of the Kwangmysong 3 using 100% DPRK resources was a great victory. Members of the audience said the DPRK succeeded in launching a satellite after 3 attempts whereas it took the USA and USSR many attempts to launch a satellite and south Korea has failed to launch a satellite. In socialist Korea rockets go up but in capitalist Britain only prices go up.

  The speaker also said that December 24th is the 95th anniversary of the birth of Madame Kim Jong Suk the anti Japanese heroine and mother of Korea  He went on
 

Comrade Kim Jong Suk brought up the young Kim Jong Il as a revolutionary and future soldier and leader of Korea. She is truly the Mother of Korea. After liberation from Japanese imperialism in 1945 she worked hard to build a new democratic Korea. She always led a frugal life and worked day and night. She inspired women to turn out in the struggle for a new democratic Korea. She founded the Korean Democratic Women's Union and accomplished the liberation of women from the double and triple oppression of imperialism and feudalism. Meeting south Korean women she gave guidance on Korean reunification and the south Korean revolution She elaborated Juche orientated theories on the liberation of women thereby smashing bourgeois, revisionist and opportunist theories on women's emancipation.

The teachings of Comrade Kim Jong Suk on the women's movement are a guideline for progressive women the world over. Her teachings show how to avoid the pitfalls of reactionary bourgeois feminism (fashionable in the capitalist countries) which simply sets women against men. The immortal communist revolutionary fighter comrade Kim Jong Suk is a role model for socialist and communist women.

  It was pointed out that December 24th is also the 21st anniversary of the appointment of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il as supreme commander of the KPA and on December 31st it will be one year since dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un became KPA Supreme Commander

The KPA and Korean people under the leadership of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il faced down the US imperialists when they clamoured over the nuclear issue. The DPRK threw a nuclear thunderbolt of Songun at the imperialists by successfully testing a nuclear device. The KPA smashed the provocations of the south Korean puppets and US imperialists at Yongphyong island thereby defending world peace and socialism. Thus the 20 years of leader's Kim Jong Il's command of the Korean People's Army were years of great achievements in which the KPA has been strengthened greatly . Because of the decisive role of the anti-imperialist military front there have been victories in other fields such as the economy and culture The ASSPUK and JISGE rejoice over these achievement.

Visiting the DPRK this year in April and September I saw for myself the impressive military parade on April 15th and in September I saw many military achievements at the KPA Exhibition of Arms and Equipment. This were the fruit of the 20 years of comrade Kim Jong Il's work as supreme commander of the KPA

The Songun revolutionary cause of army leadership is now been continued by dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un supreme commander of the KPA. The KPA will be totally victorious under the command of dear respected Marshal

KPA by the Political Bureau of the Workers' Party of Korea  on December . Since then he has given guidance to many KPA units including front line units . In August he visited frontline units in the West Sea and gave the order for the final battle for reunification if the US imperialists and puppets provoked a war . Dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un is following in the footsteps of the great leaders generalissimo Kim Il Sung and generalissimo Kim Jong Il.

Disturber and Wrecker of Peace The Korean people, like other peace-loving nations of the world, do not want a war, a synonym for all kinds of misfortunes and pains, calamities and death. However, the United States is going against the aspiration and wish of the Korean people. It illegally occupied the southern part of Korea 67 years ago and divided its territory and people into two. Now it is hell-bent on starting a new war in Korea. This year alone it consistently built up tensions on the Korean peninsula by mobilizing for action deployment in south Korea the military personnel and hardware from its mainland and overseas military bases, while launching a series of war rehearsals targeted for the DPRK. Typical of them were the US-led war games Key Resolve and Foal Eagle, which involved large troops over 200 000 strong and state-of-the-art war equipment and were conducted in south Korea between late February and April. The US and south Korean military authorities, in the disguise of the exercises for defence or annual event, conducted military drills for the DPRK-targeted nuclear preemptive strikes on the ground, in the air or on the sea, such as landing and assault operations. The war hawks in the US and south Korea hauled into south Korea en masse military hardware, such as surface-to-surface missiles, MLRS rockets, M1-A2 Abrams tanks, Striker armoured vehicles, special mine-proof armoured vehicles, and so on. Their reckless acts threatened peace and security and further aggravated the tension on the Korean peninsula. The joint military exercise Ulji Freedom Guardian staged from August 20 to 31 was a north-targeted trial war through and through in scale and nature. In the exercise were mobilized over 30 000 GIs and 56 000 south Korean troops, hundreds of thousands of south Korean civilians, military personnel of different countries, which had dispatched their troops to Korea during the Korean war (June 1950–July 1953) under the cloak of the UN Forces, and sophisticated military hardware. Prior to the start of the exercise the US Secretary of the Army flew into south Korea, examined the military preparations and made tours to the Panmunjom area, reminding everybody of the US presidential envoy Dulles’ tour to the area along the 38th Parallel on the eve of the past Korean war. The first stage of the military exercises was to examine the war preparedness of the aggressive troops, and the second one to commence a war based on closely thought-out war scenario—special warfare against the supreme leadership, preemptive strikes on nuclear and missile bases, “civil operations” prerequisite to occupying the northern half of Korea, all these aimed at surprise attack against the DPRK. The US-led joint military exercises staged in all parts of south Korea are nothing but a grave challenge to the all-people aspiration for peace and stability on the Korean peninsula and also revelation of dangerous and reckless attempt of aggressive war to plunge the Korean nation into the holocaust of a nuclear war. The US has so far repeatedly expressed that it has no hostile feelings toward the DPRK. It manifested to the world through the DPRK-USA Joint Communiqué signed in October 2000, September 19 Joint Statement made public in the six-party talks in 2005 and other agreements that it would recognize the sovereignty of the DPRK, strive to coexist peacefully, and abandon its acts of aggression and hostility against the DPRK. However, present reality shows that the United States is the main culprit in undermining peace and stability on the Korean peninsula and the root cause, provoker of war. Dialogue is incompatible with confrontation, and peace with war. Nothing can conceal the true colours of the US, peace-wrecker and mastermind of war.

Pyongyang, December 28 (KCNA) -- Signal achievements have been registered in the field of public health of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea this year.
Typical of them is the establishment of the Breast Tumor Institute at the Pyongyang Maternity Hospital.
Also, telemedicine system was applied to hospitals throughout the country and cardiovascular surgery developed on a higher level. Technical renovations were carried out in many hospitals, making them equip with up-to-date medical instruments.
In particular, many cataract patients underwent successful operations to regain their sight.
All healthcare institutions across the country carried on the Pentavalent vaccination among working people and children.
Mangyongdae and Kanggye Koryo medicine factories were renovated on a more modern basis and many medical apparatus factories updated.

Pyongyang, December 24 (KCNA) -- Sweaters were supplied to children of kindergartens across the DPRK on December 24, the anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's assumption of supreme commandership of the Korean People's Army and the 95th birth anniversary of anti-Japanese war hero Kim Jong Suk.
Sweaters produced by knitting mills in different parts of the country are of various colors and patterns to cater for the mental peculiarities of children.
The sweaters were supplied to those in mountainous villages in the northern tip of the country and areas near the Military Demarcation Line and even on isolated islands.
Children, their parents, teachers and commercial service workers were greatly excited at the solicitude shown by the dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un and extended thanks to him. -0-

The ASSPUK and JISGE issued the following statement on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the publication of the historic work "Let Us Further Strengthen the Socialist System of Our Country " by the great leader President
Kim Il Sung on the 25th of December.
                          The work "Let Us Further Strengthen the Socialist System of Our Country " was written as the speech outlining the issues around the promulgation of the Socialist Constitution of the DPRK . In the work the great leader President Kim Il Sung reviews the road to socialism travelled by the DPRK under the banner of the Juche idea. He explains the unique Juche-based policies at every such of the revolution  such as the anti-imperialist, anti-feudal democratic revolution and the socialist revolution. The DPRK pursued policies that conformed with the realities of the country and met the demands and aspirations of the people .  A people-centred Juche -based socialist system had been created as the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung stated
Under our Party’s wise guidance the Government of the Republic has achieved great successes in the revolutionary struggle and work of construction in the past years. It has established the most advanced socialist system in this land where exploitation and oppression prevailed before, and converted our backward colonial agrarian country in a very short time into a socialist power with its solid independent national economy and enormous defence capacities. It has brought about a brilliant flowering and development of science and culture and achieved great success also in the work of revolutionizing and workmg-classizmg the whole of society. We have won great victories in the socialist revolution and building of socialism and risen to a new peak which lies on our way to socialism and communism.

                                  The essential advantages and superiority of the Korean-style Juche-based socialist system are fully outlined in the work . Under the socialist system the popular masses are the masters of everything and everything serves them.Under Juche socialism working people fully participate in the political life of the country. In the DPRK a worker can get elected to the Supreme People's Assembly. However in capitalist societies this is not possible as only the rich can stand for parliament. As the great leader comrade Kim Il Sung says
"The so-called “liberties” and “rights” loudly advertised by capitalists are confined exclusively to the rulers and exploiting classes to oppress and exploit the masses of the people; the “democracy” they advocate is nothing but a means of camouflage to cover up the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie.
                                Under state provides all conditions for people's lives including stable employment and housing. This is very different to the state under the capitalist system which serves as a tool of oppression and exploitation against the working people.
                The great leader comrade Kim Il Sung gives one of the most lucid and cogent explanations of the superiority of the socialist system that I have ever seen.

 The socialist system is the best social system, not only providing the people with a happy life today but also promising them a brighter future. Since all the fruits of labour in socialist society are used for social progress and for improving the welfare of the working people, increasing social wealth brings the people ever greater abundance and an ever higher level of cultural life.

However, in a capitalist society the handful of exploiters grow richer with each passing day, whereas the working people making up the overwhelming majority of the population become more and more impoverished and miserable. A capitalist society is a society where “the rich get ever richer and the poor get ever poorer,” the gulf between the exploiting and the exploited classes growing daily; it is a living hell where the working masses are impoverished and starved.

   Although this work is 40 years old we believe that it should be studied again and again . We highly commend this work to the progressive people of the UK and the world.

We warmly applaud the creation of an International Kim Jong Il Prize  announced on the 21st of December to mark the 21st anniversary of the appointment of the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il as supreme commander of the Korean People's Army. 
                                 The creation of the prize is a token of the deep respect of the world progressive peoples , Juche idea followers and Songun idea followers have for the  great leader comrade Kim Jong Il the eternal chairman of the National Defence Commission who blazed the trail for human independence . Because ofhis great ideological and theoretical achievements in developing and enhancing the Juche Idea the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il is held in high esteem by the progressive and revolutionary peoples of the world.
                                              Also because of his role in defending socialism in the critical period when socialism had been frustrated in a number of countries the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il is highly revered by the working people of the worldand the international communist movement.  The Songun politics administered by the great leader comrade Kim Jong Il led the DPRK to shining victory over imperialism and created a powerful mode of anti imperialist politics for the world.

Pyongyang, December 24 (KCNA) -- The International Kim Jong Il Prize was instituted reflecting the unanimous desire and aspiration of progressive humankind to glorify the immortal feats and noble revolutionary life of leader Kim Jong Il . The International Kim Jong Il Prize Council made public a decision to institute the International Kim Jong Il Prize on December 24, the 21st anniversary of his assumption of supreme commander of the Korean People's Army. The decision said that Kim Jong Il was the great leader who devoted his whole life to the prosperity of the country and the people's happiness and the peerlessly great man who made immortal contributions to accomplishing the human cause of independence with his outstanding idea and leadership.

He was an outstanding thinker and theoretician and peerlessly political veteran who developed in depth the immortal Juche idea founded by President Kim Il Sung into the guiding idea in the era of independence, brought into full bloom ideal society which guarantees the dignity of human beings and their genuine life in the DPRK and encouraged the world people in their drive to realize independence, it added.

Rules on Awarding International Kim Jong Il Prize Published

Pyongyang, December 24 (KCNA) -- The International Kim Jong Il Prize Council made public the following rules on awarding the International Kim Jong Il Prize in New Delhi on Monday: The International Kim Jong Il Prize shall be awarded to the distinguished personages in political, social and academic circles and businessmen who made distinguished contributions to the struggle for independence of countries and nations, the accomplishment of the cause of global independence and peace and development of human culture. The prize shall be awarded by the decision of the council.

The diploma of the prize, gold medal and cup shall be conferred upon a winner of the prize.

The prize shall be awarded in principle on the occasion of the Day of the Shining Star, birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il . -0-
